Hiya MrSmith. =)
I used to take Yasmin, and I was attracted to it originally to see if it could clear up my acne (which had not responded to traditional topical treatments from my derm) because reportedly, it was very successful in treating hormonal acne.
Yasmin's progestrogen is called drospirenone. Now, I'm making my own inference here, but I'm assuming this is because its progestrogen is similar to another potassium-sparing diuretic called spironolactone (hey, the name sounds similar at least!), which I've heard of as being prescribed by some endocrinologists for hormonal acne patients.
So, if this is true, then you can consider Yasmin a potassium-sparing diuretic in its own right, in which case anyone taking it would have to keep an eye on their potassium/sodium balance, I think? Anyhow, I'm no expert on that balance thing, but I do know that they're related, so maybe that's a starting point for you.
I'm making a lot of guesses here -- I'm not formally educated in the medical field, so maybe someone who is can confirm. =)
