WTF! Somebody tried to steal my R1 and screwed up my ignition. I call Yamaha and they say it's on backorder for 1+ months!!!! F*CK ME!!!! I was supposed to go racing in Calgary in early July. )(!*@)*)(@!*()!

I'm sorry to hear that bro....you can borrow my zx-6R if you like......just kidding.....but the R1 is a sweet ass bike. I was thinking about getting one, but this is my first bike and I didn't want to much power.....but for my next one I'm either getting the R1 or the zx-9R.

Why do you need your ignition key for racing? How badly damaged is the key switch? If you can get it going even with a screwdriver, then fuck it just do that! Have you tried salvage yards? There should be plenty of crashed up R1's out there if you're looking for parts fast.

LOL, yeah there are tons of crashed R1's. I'm calling around right now to see if there's an extra somewhere. I can't even get my key into the ignition and the steering lock is on too. And for once the weather is nice in Vancouver! ARGH!

bigmag: Don't get the R1 until you're more experienced. All 3 of my friends who bought R1's as their first bike, crashed 'em before they made it to the first service at 1000km (600 miles). Oh and don't get the 9R once you do decide to upgrade.

R1's are quick but R6's are quicker!

I finally got my bad boy fixed lol you wont believe how much the mutherfucka cost to fix! I paid 5500 for it used and Ill let you guys venture on how much it cost to fix: heres some backround in case you missed it - went for a little sunday morning ride to change out My YAMAHA R6 (you know the Faster Ones: Blue!) headlights to some crispy whites - anyways on the way back from my homies house to my place we fucked around on the fwy doing upwards of 115 or so anyways I was getting on a transition from east bound to northbound on another fwy at this time was going probably abolut 35 mph to 40 maybe and hit some loose gravel - that shit is slippery like ice - went down me and my bike slid for a WHILE on the fwy transistion ramp luckily Slopain (the slo if for how I ride lol after the pain I fealt!) ended up just scraped and bruised with a leg that got fucked up but no serious damage the bike didnt fair as well slid on the lowside (left) behind me for a good maybe 20-30 ft?? So Ill let you guys guess the price.

HAve you guys checked out Las Vegas Extremes II or Urban Assualt or UNDERGROUND RIDERS - if you like hip hop and fast and tricky bikes and ass shaking contest check out Underground Riders - LVE II is cool as well.

Dam Slo, that sounds brutal. I've slid on gravel before but managed to recover - that shit IS slippery like ice. I didnt even know LVE2 was out, but I certainly enjoyed the first one, it's what inspired me to learn stand up wheelies . I gotta get me one of those wheelie lights, they look trick.

The Las Vegas Extremes are awesome. Pauly travels frequently and has filmed everywhere. I know a couple of the guys including Pauly and the pretty much live just like their videos suggest, doing wheelies and shit everywhere they go (even without cameras)

Gary Rothwell was one of the first guys out there to start this kinda thing though.

The ZX-12 is so heavy. I've had the displeasure of riding one and it feels so heavy and bloated. The Hayabusa is STILL faster. I don't blame ya for selling it [Nice custom color though!]

I eat R1s for breakfast, busas for lunch, and boss hoss's for dinner. Ive taken the best of em. My bike dynoed 173.5 to the wheel on a DJ250. Its got muzzy rotor, full system, and 17 tooth sprocket. It has gone 6.4 @ 119.8 in the 1.8th, and 9.50s @ 149 in the quarter....try that with a similarly modded busa.....

Yea RSuprenant with the same mods as me but with an Akrapovic went 9.2s @ 155. He is a 160 lb rider. He has both busa and 12, and a 1000. His busa went 9.50s with same mods as his 12, and the 12 went 9.2s....hmmmm. And piped busas are dynoing in the 160s and 12s are in the 170s even 180-182 with Akro....

My buddy has the world's fastest R1 (set the record the past 2 years at Bonneville), dyno'd @ 180 something ponies, and has a top end of over 200mph. Naturally aspirated. Come get some
