i already work a job where im on my feet all day long. but i was thinking of adding about an hour of brisk walking about 4 miles an hour. but im also eating more"trying to bulk up".

i hear that low intensity walking is the best way to just target fat burning instead of calorie burining.

i want to put on muscle but i want to do the cardio to knockdown some fat aswell.

does this make any sense????

i am staying away from sprints because i find that running and sprints overtrain me

I actually just read a whole article on cardio. On which way you should do it for fat burning mass building etc..And threw that article personal experience and other research I've done.Yes low impact cardio like that would be good for maintainin mass. But you could also do more high impact cardio while still maitaining muscle mass.First off you'll want to do the cardio after your workout. But immediately following lifting you'll want to drink a protein shake and some creatine if possable, that will help you from burning any muscle during the cardio session.Well hope this helps..

I've been doing quite a bit of low impact cardio recently and all my lifts have been moving up steadily as I drop my bodyfat... check out all the PR's i've been crackin in my training journal...
I usually do 25 min cardio on mon/tues/thurs/fri
And 45 min on wed (wed is just abs and cardio)
I THINK it MAY hinder growth slightly in comparison to doing no cardio... but you have to decide what you want to get out of puttin in all effort? Constant good looks with slower gains, or On/Off on the body image, but gain weight moderately quicker...
I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing for awhile, and I'll keep it posted over in my training journal (drbones cutting journal is what the thread is called i think) along with pics
Thanks

John Berardi - who writes at T-Mag - advocates 20 minutes post-workout cardio even when trying to gain weight. The logic is sound, so you might wish to read some of his stuff.
