There are many possible ways in which the bench press may be executed and we
have seen most of them, plus some interesting variations by Louie Simmons and
his Westside Barbell team. However, there is one form which has not often
been seen outside some small villages in the Gobi Desert. I am fortunate to
have met a few Mongolian lifters who were willing to show me a few of these
"Worstside" bench press methods. This type of bench pressing is called by
this possibly irreverent name because these bench press variations impose
upon one's body the worst of all possible methods of bench pressing with and
without bands and weights (by the way, any resemblance to the name "Westside"
is purely coincidental).
One of the great benefits of these Worstside Bench variations is that they
not only train the chest and shoulders but also develop enormous trunk, core,
intersegmental, global, peripheral and mental stability.
No other book or web page has yet featured this training variation and we at
Supertraining are privileged to be able to bring these exercises to the West
for the first time.
