Wondering...

I agree 300%. Unless a guy has a VERY good reason for asking on his partners behalf I don't even bother answering their Q's. Second hand info from your male partner is inferior in my opinion. Often there are hidden agendas and stuff the guys never pass because THEY don't think it's important or don't want their gals to be empowered to make their own decisions. This is one area where I feel a little solidarity would come in handy.

I will confess : My hubby got me started on my gear ; has taught me all I know ( which aint a lot :) ; and I work out with him every day. If somebody was to lead me astray.....it wouldnt be my spouse. I put 100% of my trust in him....besides my body :) He sure as shit doesnt want to see me growing a beard or anything....he also led me to this board---- which I am also grateful.Enough said--now dont flame me to hard:D

This site is kind of a sacred secret second life for most people and they would probably like to keep it that way. I bet your boyfriend could figure out who you are after reading posts for a while. I sure as hell don't tell anyone that I post on this site. I don't need like to reveal my agendas and weaknesses and such to the people around me. It's just too much for them to know. For example, I don't want my friends or my boyfriend knowing that i do dnp.

Why would you not want people close to you to not know? I'm asking seriously, not bashing.

Why would you not want people close to you to not know?

In its simplest case, just being a female who lifts weights can get you stereotyped by those who dont' understand. Call it body building and all of a sudden you get into stupid conversations with women who "don't want to get big". Do competition body building and all of a sudden people who are regulars at McDonalds are telling you how unhealthy it is and how you must be "doing steroids". At that point, you are now packaged in with every other person who might be abusing drugs of any sort and involved in illegal activity.

The sport itself has so many negative stereotypes that its just hard to get into those conversations with people. And many people just don't want to take the time to understand it. Just read the AS board -- there are plenty of relationships that have been threatened because the girl found out the guy was using. My mom still gets upset when I just start talking about diet or doing another competition.

ok.. I'm rambling... but because of the perceptions of AS use, I think it just keeps it simpler sometimes. For those who can accept the use, then you can talk. If not, maybe easier to just not mention it...

LOL Warlobo........haha

Personally, my whole bloody family thinks steroids
are EVIL..........LOL
I doesn't matter how much knowledge I possess on
the subject in question. Society thinks its "wrong",
so they think so to.
Also, being a catholic family doesn't exactly help
matters.
And no, they don't know, and they probably never will.

DNP? They'd probably have a coronary if they knew
I took it.

The funny part is that most people think steroids
are a magic pill...haha
Ask a person to name 10 steroids.........99% of
steroid-bashers won't be able to answer this.
Works every time.

If it weren't for this board I'd go nuts.......LOL

Godspeed

now, hmmm i wonder what would happen if i went over to the A board and asked the bros to help me plan a cycle for my fiance?

hehe.... gotta try that one day... not today... boards are really slow for me tonite... going to bed soon

Wow Sassy... i totally hear that. i cant talk to my family OR friends about any of this. My two brothers are pretty buff and into training and all but not into comps. Nobody in the family never says a peep to them when down a protein shake or "lift like a man" but ooooohhh brother.. i get the "what are trying to do to yourself.. i never thought my daughter would want to be a body bulider!?!?" If i so much as express my interest in "body buliding," we begin the game of 21 questions:( . its sad really , i just dont understand:confused: where oh where my sanity would be without my elite gals? luv ya!:D

OK

1)
Lobo's post. I agree, I honestly wasn't bashing and was really looking for reasons why the women didn't get on here themselves. AND...you made me think a bit more about the good part of them asking...Will try to be more helpful.

2)
Phem's post about asking for her fiancé on the AS board. I actually did post some questions on my husbands behalf and stated that. Didn't get much of a response so I changed my posts to "for a friend". That didn't really help either so I decided to just ask for myself and that didn't work because they wanted my stats!

SO....
I guess the best place is here, so let's appreciate it!
:)

:o
My husband did help me get started & I am glad he did find this board, it has been helpful to me.I was shy about asking questions ,but not no more. I get great information for women here! :)
