women, did you ever notice glutamine drying out your hair??

Re: womens, did you ever notice glutamine drying out your hair??

thanks annie, i never realized that about the sulfates, im def. gonna look for a shampoo without them. i wash my hair every other day, youre right washing it everyday is not good for it. plus if you miss 1 day for some reason its gonna get greasy as fuck because its used to getting washed every day. i switch between herbal essence and sunsilk. those are the 2 best i found so far. but if you know any good shampoos that dont cost $20 a bottle im down to try them out.

my hair looks fine now, its just when i take the glutamine it looks like shit

If you're used to washing it every other day and you start washing it less often, your hair will look greasy more quickly but you can use dry shampoo to help out with that. Eventually your hair and scalp will become healthy and regain balance. Shampoos with sulfates and things mess up the pH of your scalp which is bad for your hair, you need to regain balance.

Start washing less often.

And Sunsilk and Herbal Essence aren't so great. Both contain sulfates. If you don't think there's a problem with your hair when you use them though, there's no reason to stop. But while you take glutamine and have dry hair, I wouldn't use them. When you're on glutamine, try the new Loreal sulfate-free shampoos. They're the cheapest sulfate free shampoos I know of and they'll be at your local super market.

When you're on glutamine wash your hair a couple times a week with those shampoos and I think your hair will be fine.

Re: womens, did you ever notice glutamine drying out your hair??

OMG just yesterday I was looking up recipes to make my own shampoo- what a coincidence!
I'm so sick of drugstore shmpoo, it never does anything. I've tried sulfate free shampoo, but it really didn't do much either.
My hair is fine, but there are is a lot of it. So it tangles, but also goes "flop" after only an hour or two with product on it. So if I get one that detangles, it's too heavy. If i get a volumiser, it's too heavy. If I get one for fine hair, with protein, I will never get the tangles out! So I am going to make my own, basic friggin shampoo & conditioner, and see how that works.
Spring water
liquid castile soap
essential oils/herbs
almond oil
Here's the link I was looking at.

I read it, I'm just not a huge fan of of Lush. I can barely walk by the store without feeling slightly nauseous from all the scents. I have a low tolerance for really sweet smells. It may stem from an early encounter with caramel popcorn lol.

True, their stuff does tend to be intense. I can see how a store full of their stuff would be uber fragrant. Some of their products are subtle though.

Try morocan oil its in most salons . Its great for dry hair and used as a basic styling aid. Its the best product I have ever used. I have shoulder length blond hair and I go through dryness big time in the past.
Guys use it too becasue it doesnt smell feminine and I don't know I love it. Its cheap too.

Yup Lush Big trex would be perfect for your hair type it doesn't have any super floral smell there is sea salt in it that is the only real smell to it IMO. You could order it online to avoid the stank of the store I do agree that some of there sents are sickly sweet. I was just in the store yesterday to pick up some bar soap the girl should me the "firming cream" :faint: even if I was retard enough to believe it firmed anything the shit stank.

Re: womens, did you ever notice glutamine drying out your hair??

I have never had good results from either of those, I find them very drying.

trex i have great hair. alot of girls are jealous of my hair lol. but i have a secret that really makes my hair look really good. i think you should give it a try..

i cut my hair, then i mix up a really thick protein shake. i found any protein works, i use like a scoop of protein and maybe like 2 scoop amouts of water. i wash my hair really good in the shower, then i put the protein in my hair. i get it all in my hair and i leave it in for like 10 minutes in the shower. then i rinse it out good without any more shampoo. it feels like straight up rubber after i do this. but its actually the hair being really strong and healthy. then i put alot of conditioner in there and rinse it all out. i do this like once a month or so. dont do it too often or it loses its effectiveness i think. my hair looks amazing after that its instantly better and stronger. you might think its kind of strange but believe me its no jokes
