Yes, because the ladies wouldn't have to lower the weights on any of the machines for their own workout:FRlol:

While I admit I couldn't do 30 arnold presses w/ 35's, the rest of that workout is a joke, even for me, and compared to most women on here, my poundages aren't particularly noteworthy.

Real, tough, strong guys, usually don't have a 28 inch ripped waist. Look at a heavywieght boxer. Big in the middle. I have huge abs. I am proud as I can be of them.

Jennifer Anniston has a decent face, nothing to go nuts over, but needs to eat a freakin cheeseburger.

When I use to work at GNC in a yuppie mall, I'd say 95% of girls would always come in and see "Flex", "M&F", etc. and say "ewww that's so gross". They even thought Frank Zane body types were disgusting. But, they'd see the weenies on "Men's fitness" or other anorexic wimp mags and think they were perfect.

I already get funny looks, and I'm not very big. Oh well, I'm in this to eventually deadlift automobiles and small buildings, not too look pretty.

Me either bro. My girl wears jeans and tennis shoes with zero make-up and looks fucking great. She's only 5'4", but she's strong as hell with a quad sweep and a little lat spread even. She would rather go grind out some deadlifts with me than go shopping anyday. I think you and I are of the few lucky ones with ladies that have their shit together.

Screwball is exaggerating, though only slightly. I have nothing against Brad Pitt, guys, he is actually one of my favorite actors, but I am not about to adopt his workout regimen.

And Matto 18, benching 300 aint shit in this crowd. 500 is something to raise an eyebrow, and 600 is something to get excited about. I realize he does well with the ladies without my bench, but I do just fine with my lady, and am one of the top benchers in my state.

The point that I am making, and I know B-fold et. al. will back this up, is that for a strength athlete, there is a lot more involved than just trying to look good for the ladies. We train for functionality. But look at the pics of B-fold, not too many ladies that are not going to be impressed with that. I don' t have any pictures to post of myself, but I hear few complaints. And Screwball is probably the most muscular guy on this board. He is six foot 2, 300 lbs and is one of the leanest 300 lbers on the planet.

When he comes to my house to workout in a tank top, I can tell you, he is obscenely muscled. It is shocking, and I have been around this game for a long time. So just because we are not ripped and striated, and don't particularly train for looks, we have functional, STRONG bodies, and you skinny boys better look out if I do decide to take your girl. Those glute striations won't do much for you then.

I hear ya...It does not do me any good to worry about what my waist-line looks like because it will not matter on contest day. How big my quads, lats, triceps, chest...etc...will not matter on contest day. The only thing that will matter is how I perform.

I once thought that I would be a bodybuilder...don't know what I was thinking. I'm not pretty and I have a very large waist. I also like physical sports and physical competition. What can I say...

It does get to me to hear women go crazy over Brad Pitt or other skinny model looking guys. Then I realize that I would not want a woman who was like that. A woman who would find a superficial man attractive...is not the kind of woman that I want. (That did not come out the way that I wanted it to, but I don't know how else to explain it)

I do feel that people need to train JUST for themselves and not for anyone else. Not for the women, the money, glory, to impress their friends...just for themselves. I can proudly say that I do.

i wasn't making a shot at you or heavy lifters in general. sorry if it came off that way. folks were posting on here clownin on brad pitt for "being a pussy". i say, to each his own. you do what you want, i'll do what i want, and brad will do what he wants... there's no good reason to bash someone successful for the way he works out (and is nailing jen aniston)... if people want to make fun of someone, why not choose a total fag like andy dick? and anyone who says jennifer aniston isn't hot is out of their mind!
 
Has anyone here seen "Snatch" he's still thin, but not a "stick"... he played the role of a boxer well!!! He was smaller in Fight Club, but still cut as hell!!!
But I guess this work out goes to show, that he has the potential to be fairly big if he wanted to... since this pussy work out has made him fairly built for a thin guy...

I could still kick his ass... I want to tri-angle choke him, we can film it for Fight Club 2!!!!

ya brad pitt is quite skinny. it doesn`t bother me sure he looks good hes got the jaw thing going hes ripped hes got a decent frame.... but what DOES bother me is when chicks/guys who dont work out look at him and say things like fook hes huge look at those big muscles and then i say that his look is more a function
of symnetry and low body fat % and i might even be bigger than him and they think im hating or some shit.

Alright-- before I get flamed-- I'm 21 and just starting up really. I don't want to be huge or anything- I think my metabolism is too high to gain weight anyway. I'm a stick-- I'm 6'4" and 175lbs. I weighed 185 in HS (basketball player- lifted weights) but I stopped lifting after one of my injuries (broke both my wrists, screw holding one together), and I haven't found a decent lifting partner.
Brad Pitt's "physique," however much a joke to you, is just about ideal for me. I'm a basketball player with leaping ability, a runner, and a guitar player/singer. Yes he's small and lean, but so am I- I just want to be little larger and more defined. I haven't worked out in a long time- and I always kept my workouts in my head--- but I read this- and it's basically what I was looking for- but I've never seen a workout written like this. I'm sure I'm bringing up an awful old post and I'm sorry. But I'm guessing the "3s" mean sets- but are the numbers after the workout name- are those %max? %body weight? What are they

Brad Pitt has actually gained some LBM for his role as Achilles in the upcoming epic "Troy". Believe it or not.

However that: most H-town actors are pur-tee wimpy, as compared to the average strength athlete. When you take in effect that anything that they do is done only after their Publicicts, Agents, etc tell them it's "okay" or a good "career move". So, they don't do stuff unless it's gonna make them look good.

Why would this be attractive? Someone who cannot make decisions on what they want to do? With this thought; I don't care what they do in the gym. The "A-list" of H-Town are downright vacuous.

Besides, I really doubt that Pitt's soy-laden body could handle any more weight on the "very tough" Nautilus equipment. :rolleyes:

My bf ain't the biggest; but he's got the biggest heart and is stronger than an Ox for his size and he's a cutey; he's cuter than Brad and has a higher IQ. :D

as sad as it sounds, i think the 2-digit numbers are in pounds. even if they're in kilo's instead of pounds...still very very sad. it really is

About a leg routine. . .it seems to be working well for him. . I want legs like Brad Pitt by the end of this year.

And I have skinny legs too for those of you making fun of Brad's legs-- but I can run a 5 flat or under mile and I've hurdled 6'7" basketball players in basketball games-- so that's what I was made for-- even though most of you could toss me like doll haha :-)

I totally agree. YES Bratt Pitt is weak compared to STRENGTH ATHLETES. He is not a Strength athlete. He has a different profession/interest and is extremely successful with it.

There are other ways to be a worthwhile human being than being big and strong. Developing your strength and size is only ONE way of developing yourself personally - there are many many others. There's nothing wrong with choosing something else to do with your life.

There is also more to looking good than having massive LBM. your face and personality have a lot to do with it, as well as your bearing and coordination (very skilled dancers are usually attractive to women as well, despite being 'skinny pricks.')

Strength athletes admire strength and size more and find it attractive. And that's cool. But other people have different values and that's ok too.
 
Also I'm sure that Brad Pitt has top-of-the line training advice from hollywood trainers. He and other actors gain and lose LBM for roles they're playing regularly, and do it very quickly - too quickly for their training to be anything but correct.

I actually heard that Brad Pitt does SuperSlow (TM), so that would make those poundages more forgiving.

But god bless the guy...finally somebody I'm bigger than.

What would use suggest to get that kind of outcome. Like I said- I'm not trying to be real big or anything-- I weigh 175 now-- so like 190-200 range and cut?
 
Well for the time being you should train like you DO want to be big. then just stop when you have the size you want. Check the training method Stickies at the top of the board. Also, you CAN gain weight, you just need to eat enough calories. unless you have an intestinal parasite, that will work. make sure to keep up your squats and lower-body training.

btw I envy your vert :)

The celebrities who do lift look alot better than the average person, and thats all that matters. Average people look at brad pitt in fight club and say "wow hes jacked". Those people are the majority of the population.

I bet if everyone in the world was physically fit and massive...it would set a new standard for the physical appearance of celebrities. Most celebrities are good eye candy for the average joe (good looking, nice bodies, nice whatever)

i think that workout was for getting in shape for a movie role-- he doesnt do much weight-training normally-- mostly cardio, surfing, skateboarding- the guy is def not an athlete.

I don't see why this is being discussed. If he was a monster he would only be able to get roles as action heros. Him being the size he is allows him to get roles of a much larger pool. Acting isn't about size or strength it's about talent and I think he works that out because he's tallented.

At this very moment on an acting board people are discussing Arnies acting routine.

:locked: I agree...I can't believe this is even being discussed on this board...I read this board to learn from others, not to hear people bash someone because others say hes"big." Who cares if hes big or not?! If what he does works for him, then more power to him...

I don't think that most people have a sense of what size celebrities are in 'real life.' So the fact that Brad is a sex symbol doesn't necessarily mean that women like "skinny" men. In the movies, he just looks like a lean, fit guy. (And that's cool -- not everybody wants to be heavily muscled.) In fact, in the movies that I can recall, he is more muscular than many of the other principal actors. That can easily skew public perception of his body type. If he were the male equivalent of Laura Flynn Boyle and women were drooling over him, that would be different.

So i guess if you want all the ladies to chase you, do this workout????

You probably would get more women chasing you if you had that kind of body. But I quit caring long ago about that. I'd rather know that if I so desired that I can defend myself very well. Like having the strength to take a man's head and stick it up his own ass. I like having that kind of strength. :)
