I met one and the dude makes a ton of money. I wonder how they get their clients and how they make money since they are bound to get stiffed occasionally.

I had a kid in my dorms at college who was a bookie. He wasn't too big but still cleared about $500 a week. Pretty good for a full time student.

I think clients were mostly word of mouth. You start small and branch out thru references.

As for getting stiffed, my guy was a cash only player. No cash..no play.

His "guy" was in Brockton Mass and it was like the Whitey Bulger family reunion when I dropped off my betting slip one day. Even Swole would be nervous.

mostly rats and people trying to edge into Whitey's business in Southie. He'd dump their bodies under bridges, bury them in his backyard, dump them into the Charles River. The FBI found a body in his garage floor.

A dirty FBI agent tipped him off and he's been gone for the last 15 years. Probably in South America somewhere.

People talk about New Jersey and New York mobsters, but Brockton/Boston is bas ass
