Will America recover???

When I was a kid, America was the greatest country in my opinion. I no longer believe that to be true. In fact, I believe this country is in very deep shit. Scandals, obesity, and rampant homosexuality have been precursors to the fall of covilizations.

Our public school system went to hell. Our public health went to hell. Our morals went to hell. Our families went to hell. Our mental health went to hell.

We are teetering on an economic abyss. Large numbers of congressional and senatorial races are funded by Asian businessmen. The likelihood of WWIII looks greater than it has in my lifetime. Large numbers of white women will only date and copulate with black men, they even say so in their ads (this is not a significant problem by itself but it does loudly say something else). Illegal aliens are taking more jobs everyday. Wages are dropping for very large numbers of middle and lower class workers. Litigation is growing exponentially last time I checked.

So my question is this. Can we come back?

I was actually talking about this with my girlfriend and a few of my friends last night. Of course, my friends dont read anything except CNN so they didnt know why I was criticizing America so much.

Example: My girlfriend was born in Canada, therefor technically is not a US citizen. She has lived in the states since she was 2 and put herself through college on her own. Today if she applied for a green card, it would take up ton 8 years to approve, and during that time she would have to continuously get work visas to simply make a living.

At the same time, the INS has a fuckin lottery where any illegal immigrant who jumped the border from Mexico can win a green card every year as long as they have broken no laws while residing here.

I love how this country will give a green card for free to an illegal immigrant for no reason whatsoever, yet my college graduate girlfriend will get a green card quicker if she marries me a few years down the road rather than applying for one now.

Australia seems to be calling my name.

The current economical depression is due to the war and to the inet economy bubble bursting.
Once that war is over investors will invest again and unemployment will sink (if the war is short and Saddam doesn´t torch all the oil fields)

I would not be too worried right now.
Btw. , shortly before a conflict like that is a good time to buy stocks. Too bad i´m broke :(

Why do you have a problem with homosexuels?

I dunno. I need a couple months to get organized and figure out what I own. I've also got it pretty good right now. I also speak no foreign languages on a competent basis. It may also be interesting to sit here and watch the show.

If we go down, we may take a lot of the world with us whether it is economic or otherwise.

I don't have a problem with them. Several of my favorite people on Elite are gay. I was merely stating that history shows that rampant homosexuality can be a precursor to the fall of a civilization.

Oh shit dude....you really think that things have not gone to hell in a handbasket? Damn....women don't wear hot pants and halter tops anymore. They wear XXL sweats and push shopping carts full of food for exercise.

How are things so bad in America? People always answer this will broad statements that are meaningless. In reality people are living perfectly good lives in America. There are things that can be improved but overall America is in great shape.

So which gov agency do you work for?

I did not list them as our big problems. I said they are historical precursors to the fall of civilizations.

Problems? I listed a few:

Public education

Public health

Morality

Family cohesiveness

Mental health

Prolonged recession

Manufacturing is done in Asia and money is going to Asia. Our companies increasingly lack substance, they are just speculation.

Illegal aliens who have no ettiquette

Falling wages....the poor are growing poorer and the middle class is shrinking.

Litigation is a run away freight train.

I thought I said all this on my first post. Not sure why I bothered to respond.

Re-read what I've asked. What you say isn't new. Every generation looks at civilzation and asks the same questions you ask.

When were things better? During the cold war? Vietnam war? World War 2? There have always been problems and areas that need change.

Things were better during the cold war though the cold war has nothing to do with it.

Vietnam? I don't know. It was bad if you were there or lost someone to it.

WWII? Well I would take this time period over WWII or WWI or anytime prior to WWI.

I am saying that the quality of life for the average American has gone down significantly since the 50s through the 80s. If you don't believe that you are living in fantasy land.

I wasn't talking about my QOL which is pretty high. I am talking about the national scenario.

How does it feel to know in 20 years 50% of america will be hispanic?
As for the guy who said homo's,scandals, obesity is a precursor to downfalls of great nations is on the mark. Look at the Romans.

I said it was my opinion. What is your ignorant opinion.

I was making a joke, sheesh. Hence the smiley. In times of strife and upheaval - such as what the US is experiencing - that's how I deal. My opinion is the same as yours, we simply have different ways of expressing it.

Yea...I hope we pull out of it. 3 out of my 4 neighbors are gone due to foreclosure or home for sale.

I just bought United tickets and then found the stock was trading at $1.48 a bit ago. :eek2: Hope they are still around in a couple months.

How does it feel to know that that 50% will now be THE Majority and still recieve benefits of Affirmative Action. I see history repeating itself and the white man getting the shit end of the stick.

We need to start letting more Europeans in.

The depression isn't due to the war. It started long before, when Greenspan decided to overly constrict the monetary supply. The overvaluation of tech companies and other factors have helped weaken investor confidence, though.

The american mind set is one that is totally occupied with satisfying itself in the NOW. It has very little intrest in progression. And little concern for the past.
The future is in europe, always learning and progressing their social system, open to new ideas (lets face it every major political ideology has a party that is given some serious credit in europe... its illegal to be communist in the USA, what does that tell us about how oepn the minds of americans are to change?)

The avatar's on here speak enough about the mindsets of americans. For the most part the either feature some large breasted woman or a good car.

Like it was stated before

The morals of this country are fading
The families are in decay
Health is in decay
Independent thought has been erased largely by the media

Economies rise and fall...
Look at the state of the countries people

It is not illegal to be a communist. Other than that, you're observations of Europe only skim the surface. Europe, to reach its potential, will have to join politically. The Euro faces immense barriers still, and sticking to a fixed exchange rate is difficult to say the least. The Germans are witnessing this first hand right now. NOONE likes sacrificing domestic interests in order to maintain an international economic comittment, which is one reason why the Brits jumped ship long ago. I doubt we'll ever see them return to the unified currency.

Who else features a big rack in their avatar?

What do the euro boys use in their avatar? Boys in speedos?

Actually.....muscular men make the most popular avatar around here.

Never heard that one. Can you cite an example of immigration creating a downfall? Or was it slave labor that allowed the public to grow obese and unmoral?

I'm pretty sure that slave labor allowed the citizens of Rome to grow obese and immoral. Obesity is a definite predicator of the fall of civilizations.

Our government sits and watches this............and does NOTHING. I'm very pissed off about their lackadaisical attitude. They think we are doing fine! Fucknuts.

I want to see hot pants and halter tops! Not XXL sweats and what looks like battling bags of potatoes on their butts.

These states are already majority hispanic or very close to it. In 20 years, the national population is being projected as having those demographics.

The title of this thread would be of the same relevance 300 years ago as it would 300 years from now. The U.S has always dealt with problems of some sort. If you don't like a here then you should go. I am not saying this in a mean manner either. You alone can not do anything to change the problems you mention, so why complain about them.

I would personally go somewhere like Australia, nice and sunny. Europe is nice too. Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland etc. I know if I did not like it here I would pack my bags and leave. Why worry about the problems of the U.S if they do not worry about your problems. Unless you are some type of humanitarian, you should do what makes you happy because the U.S or the World will not stop to hear your complaints, and it will just continue to revolve, evolve, and make its course with or without you.

There are only 2things in history that can screw up a country royally:

1) a foreign army on your soil

2) Lack of prosperity or recession/depression.

The first will probably not happen unless an atom bomb gets set off in a major city, but the recession that'll probably last another 5-10 years will make deep inroads into the standard of living in the US, which has alreayd gone down a lot. It's more spending on needs vs wants nowadays.

You forgot the polarization of the haves and the have nots.

Soon it will look like Brazil with all of the secure compounds and shanty towns.

i think the airlines industry absolutely does not need aprox. 4500 flights a day. they have saturated the market and then they pay for it, or shall i say we pay for because they file ch11 or ch7. in the end the working man always gets stiffed. fuck em, let em fail.
