Ralph Nader wrote an interesting book called "Canaidan Firsts" about things Canada has excelled at.

My list would include:

Butter tarts - those alone justify an entire country
French fries with malt vinegar - only recently catching on in U.S.
Skinny Puppy and Frontline Assembly
