Why Chiropractic care is so important in bodybuilding/weight training

i believe its benificial to have chiro treatment, what i do not like is a guy who practices it, to tell me somethings wrong that isnt so ill keep comming back to him.

i dont mean to sound smart ass or dick by any means so this is a genuine question:

how do YOU know nothing is wrong? can you read the x-rays properly and do you know the proper alignment of vetebrae? Do you understand the innervation of the whole body? if you do then I apologize and will shut up..but I mean, cmon, you gotta give the doctor a little respect, he knows what he's talking about..our schooling is very difficult and we DO know alot about the anatomy and physiology

Chiro real Doc

Are chiro's real Docs after all? I went to one once and felt more like a deep tissue message... I think Spa Sydell is cheaper too!:D

you have 2 fucking posts...and you're from atlanta..and youre gonna question if chiro's are REAL doctors??

what the fuck do you think DC stands for? Doctor of Chiropractic dipshit:mad:

sorry i've had a rough night:angel:

I manufacture and sell spine implants for instrumented ALIF lumbar, thoracic and cervical fusions.

I have never seen a spine that didn’t need a good instrumented fusion!!!!!

I say cut first and adjust late.

Give me a CPT code for a $36,000 spinal fusion and I am happy all day.

CUT, CUT, CUT, CUT,

NOW AND FOREVER:D :D :mix: ;)

i am going to school to be an x-ray technician. so please dont say do i know this or do i know that. i know doctors and i know ethics and the lack of ethics practiced in todays hospitals and private practices

I get an adjustment once a month and I agree pretty much with what you're saying about nerve function.

BB's or even serious weight trainers tend to be very dense in the upper back and shoulder area. A subluxated vertebra can cause all kinds of poor feedback, compensation, and tightness.

I can actually feel when long hours sitting at a desk have affected the vertebra in the neck, mid-upper back, or lower back. If all three are screwed up, just imagine the loss of strength.

When I go a long time without chiro, it affects my perception of how straight my body is. I feel "crooked" (which I am to some extent anyway). The left hip feels very tight, the left shoulder feels lower than the right... basically everything is all wrong.

Squats may be good for you, but the truth is, they place an enormous load on the spine.

As many of you all know, I am a chiropractic student here in Atlanta.

I thought I'd just dispell some stereotypes and myths about chiropractic and explain how it is VERY important in the bodybuilding/weight training/pro sports communities.

Chiropractor does not translate into "back doctor" we do nothing about the back. We dont treat back pain. We dont TREAT any SYMPTOM or SIGN...we go to the source of the problem and give the body an optimal environment to maintain homeostasis and to function optimally.

Now why do I think its so important to muscle building? if anybody here understands muscle physiology then they will understand but I will break it down for you easily by this small example:

Deltoid muscle is innervated by the axillary nerve, which is located at cord segments C5, C6...when there is a sublixation, (improper alignment of vetebral bodies) the nerve is impinged and causes interference. The only way your deltoid muscles function is by your brain sending motor neurons through that peripheral nerve! If there is interference, that muscle CANNOt function optimally..if anything it can become diseased, injured, or worse--shrink! ShrinK? yes shrink..why? because muscles need blood (nutrients) AND nerves to maintain/grow...without that electrical stimulus from the nerve, the muscle will atrophy..

this might not become a problem at first, but after a while, that nerve becomes worse and worse due to the sublixation and people wonder why they are "having problems growing" and they automatically assume its genetics and live with it...

How about seeing that it COULD be a sublixation causing interference of mental impulses (motor neurons) to that muscle?

believe me, there is more to chiropractic than just back pain therapy..

Ask any professor/doctor at my school...they are famous WORLDWIDE with athletes of all countries (olympic athletes mind you) and professional athletes all over the area..why? cuz chiro works..simple as that..

questions? comments?

good post..... :wavey:

yeah well just cuz your an x ray technician doesnt mean you know shit about phsyiology, anatomy, structure and function, nor can you diagnose shit..

lack of ethics is practiced in hospitals? of course, those are MD's not DC's.. heheh

besides, there are lack of ethics in EVERY PROFESSION..so you have to substantial evidence to assume that about only chiro's or medical doctors...

get a fuckin clue...
