For about the past 2 months I have been getting charlie horses all over in different muscles. I use the term charlie horse for lack of a better word but maybe everyone here descibes these as something else so I'll explain what I mean. You know the feeling when you flex a muscle and continue to flex it and you start to feel it tightening up like a vice? Well as I'm sure you all know if you continue to do this long enough, its like you go over a hump and start downhill and there is no going back. Something extremely painful happens. Can anyone explain exactly what is going on inside of me when this happens? Its almost as if something rolls up. Anyways, getting a charlie horse has happened to me in the past but lately for the past 2 months, it happens very easily.
Like for example the other day I was laying in bed and I sat up just a bit and all of the sudden I felt my lower back charlie horse. I ran out of the room and hunched over because it hurt so bad. The pain usually goes away about 10 minutes later. Also the other day I laughed really hard and my stomach did this. I had been drinking and this intense pain caused me to puke. Even now as I'm typing this, if I stretch and flex my muscles, I can only do so for a very short period of time because I feel my muscles right on the brink of another charlie horse. Its like they tighten up so fast and they want to charle horse quicker than ever in my life.
The only things I'm taking is Creatine and 1-AD, 4-AD. I also take Glucosime as recommended by a friend to help in my joints but this charlie horse nonsense is still affecting me. Is there something missing from my diet? Am I not stretching enough prior to my workouts? Thanks for any advice.
