Who maintains a six pack year round??

if you keep your bf% under 10 year round then you'll have abs, its a little tough when your trying to bulk a bit though..and the best way to gain size is to put on weight/mass and then cut...lean gaining is a lot harder.

I maintain a 6 pack, but that's all genetics. I just don't hold my fat there. I've had a washboard since I was a wee kid. Even after giving birth to my son, at 220 pounds, an ass the size of Texas...I had a washboard. Win some, lose some. :D
 
Just lost my six pack! I have been fatting out the last few weeks. Eating pizza, low fat ice cream once in a while and yesterday I had IHOP...That shit was good. Steak and Eggs, Cheese Blintzes etc. :)

I am starting a CKD in a few weeks. But it feels good to take a break. It doesn't bother me to lose my 6 cause I know it only a few weeks of dieting to get them back.

I'm in the same boat as spatts. My abs look pretty nice (and are defined while resting) at relatively high body fat percentages, but my ass sure seems to make up for it.

Count your blessings.
 
Keeping abs year round is probably not the best way to gain mass. Maybe you are lucky and you can get away with it, but it doesn't work for me. I've kept a six pack for about a year, and I've made very little gains during that time. As soon as I start upping my calories, my abs start to disappear. It sucks.
 
haha i guess u could say im lucky. i keep mine year round, REGARDLESS of how much or what i eat. And believe me, year round when im bulking i might not eat hte healthiest but i eat a TON. My body REFUSES to put on fat. My 6-pack isnt perfect, but visible when im breathing or when i flex. I do put on muscle well though. Guess im just kinda lucky.

Not interested in bulking, just staying lean and ripped, my body seems to stroe fat in the lower abdominal region.

How long u been lifting? Where u going with it - maintaining or trying to get bigger? Any cycles?

Yeah... 17" lean arms... thats what I want. Mine are 16-16.5 but Im not nearly as lean as you... maybe 15-17% :(
 
Needhelp: I really have no clue what my bf% would be, your guess is as good as mine.

Built: I've been lifting seriously for well over 3 years now. I've only done two cycles; one bulk, one cut. I'll bulk again this winter but nothing crazy. I'd rather look decent year round than look great for only 2-3 weeks out of the year.

My goal was to be 185-190lbs and cut for the summer, next summer I hope to be 10lbs heavier and a little more cut.

When you bulk, how much do you take your BW x to get total calories?

How much of your diet is protein, carbs, and fat?

I want to be in the 180-195 range too.... 165 now... :(

Don't worry about your weight now, I hit 165lbs last summer too.

My bulking diet isn't much different than my cutting; with the exception of my carb intake.

Protien: is 300 grams/ed (year round)
Fat : is low I really don't know how many grams but most of it comes from natural bp or flax seed oil.
Cutting Carbs: I stop eating carbs after 6 when I cut, this is all I really do, I also don't drink booze.
Bulking Carbs: I mix oats in with all my shakes and don't have a cutoff with the night time carbs; allthough I don't eat candy, chips, pop, etc...

Calories: Ughh, I really don't know numbers but I'd say I'm around the 3000+ calorie mark when I bulk; cutting maybe around 2500... as I said I don't really count much except for protein, I suppose I should be counting everything else too. :)

I'm 165 now, 5'11.. What do you think I should start at? 300g protein, low as fats as possible, and how many carbs? How many cals?

What type of routine you do? You definately got symmetry :) Nice work

I really don't have a problem with the mid-section. I am able to maintain muscularity year around. Of course, when I am eating big during the winter months my abdominal region will volumize 2 inches.

dam i wish i had a six pack!! i got my body fat measured today. im 23, 5'6 and 21% body fat and i weighh 161. i have to lose about 15 lbs to be 11% body fat:(
 
i retain mine but i also have a hard time gaining weight, it took me a long hard year of training to get from 190 to 200, and i still kept them through that while even dropping a size in the waste..i have to agree that its just a genetical thing tho

I WISH I could GET a 6-pack, much less maintain one.

I have trouble restricting calories enough because when I do my w/o intensity just suffers. Right now I am at about 11% bf and you can see slight indentations in my abs in the right light. I figure dropping a couple percent and/or selectively burning the fat with yohimburn would help. That is probably my next supplement.

My mom told me the other day that she could see my abs. That was 3 pizzas, 3 pounds of hamburger, 4 16oz tubs of baked potato salad, few gallons of milk, and MANY many other things ago...

I'm getting towards the end of my custom-made keto diet now.... and when I'm done, I'll be looking to maintain the results all year round.

I've done the bulking/cutting thing a few times.... but to be honest, I can't live with myself being fat. Admittedly, I never tried too hard to eat clean but with high calories during my bulking phase.... it was mainly just crap. But as soon as I get a bit fat, I can't wait to start cutting again.... as soon as I get leaner, I feel skinny and can't wait to bulk again (not to mention the cravings)....

.... so, while I know my progress will be MUCH slower, I'm going to try and stay lean from now on. I'd rather gain muscle very slowly than be fat.

its all about doing cardio and ieting year round. Its a bitch but i dont want to have any off season ai wann try and be good all year. I maintain a body fat level of 4%. Some of it is genetics buit i do work hard, its all about the diet baby. PEACE

I maintain a body fat level of abou t 5% year round. Right now im at 3.8% Its kinda low but the thing is to diet diet diet. In my opinion die ting makes up for 70% of how you would l ike to look.
 
I probably have a six-pack 5 months out of the year. Towards the end of my cutting cycle and at the beginning of the bulking. :D
 
I just found out that I have about 4.5% bf (by 3-spot caliper test) and I don't even have a six-pack.

WTF?!?!?! I thought nost people start seeing a 6pack at 8%?

I need some Lipoderm-Y.

I wouldn't believe those calipers, They said I was at 7 when I was still quite hefty in the waist, was probably 14 or so, so your probably at 8, do you have any signs of a 6-pack? Try and get underwater tested.

calipers are off either + or - 6% due to the intramuscular difference between people that can't be measure without a density test....
