Although alot of people here have inspired me. I look up to the person I WILL be a month from now, a year from now. That person will be better than I am now.

now that shit will keep you motivated then. hell..when i think about benching 600, that alone get me fired up...but seeing one of my favorites doing something unreal like josh bryant's 1000lb walkout...that sets your ass on fire!!!!!! tb

I do admire this one handi-capable girl who I see running on the track a few times a week when I am getting off from work. It is obvious that she is disabled to a large degree, but she is always doing her best. She runs as best as she can, pushes herself, sweats, and doesn't notice anyone else in the entire stadium but the one step right in front of her...

Kind of similar, I admire the little guy that has the nuts to get in the gym and bust his butt, working at putting up 135, or 225, or whatever he can- much more than the guy that is already world class...

I notice the way the other dudes at the gym look at him- like he is nothing, and the way he doesn't seem to notice them at all.

I see that he is gaining on them, and will pass them up in no time.

You don't see a guy like this very often- but I think a lot of us used to be just like him.

He reminds me that I do not want to be one of "them".

I respect those who are better than by virtue of training and sacrifice. Looking up to implies that I am lower than they are, I want to be the best and to get there I need to improve, not jump to their level. The hardworking under-dog is the best motivator I can think of, all the card thrown down and nothing to lose

lookin up to someone doesn't have to imply that, brotha. to me its a cycle, if you look up to someone then before you know it there is someone lookin up to you...now tell me that ain't true??
the underdog is indeed the best motivator!! tb

That sums it up for me. I have respect for those who have worked to reach a point beyond my current level, but I don't really look up to anyone. But, I listen to those who have accomplished a lot in order to glean any useful info from them that will help my own training.
