Which exercise "hurts" you the most?

For me it's the standing calf raise machine. :jump: I don't know why, but no other excercise makes me want to scream profanities like this one does..

Heavy,Heavy squats........i ache for several days! But its a "good " ache!

RADAR

Okay but I mean while you're doing it... squats kill afterwards for days, but during, it's not so bad. The calf raises totally kill me while I'm doing it.

I would have to go with Squats and bench press. I'm over 6'3, squats are hard at my height. But even still, I go atf and always add weight. I thought after all these years I would like them, and I do. I just hate doing them lol :)

I would normally say deads without even thinking BUT, I recently began training hams/calves one day and quads another. Holy Shitballs Batman! I have never had this much trouble walking!

I'd say lateral raises with the cables burn like a bitch after cleans and presses and upright rows. Other than that, deads certainly hurt on that first pull from the floor. feels like a 500 lb man standing on my lower back LOL

Sometimes I'll do a couple sets of 21's during my bicep work... that's a serious burn if you load enough weight on.

Chins and pullups. There is nothing like getting to the end of the set and feeling the strenght just ooze out of your body. And the burn, oh the burn. Biceps are on fire, lats feel wasted, the grip is starting to let go but I have to get two more reps out without kicking my legs, not matter HOW much I want to. That's when concentration wins over fatigue, when those last few reps feel like they take longer than the entire workout.

pullups. they piss me off.

BB Curls have been my absoulte most hated exercise lately though. i hate doing them. probably because i know if i jerk my body around, i can get those last few reps, but i REFUSE to compromise my form. seems every other week i hit failure before completing my sets.

Deadlifts don't really hurt me that much immediately after the set is done. It's more of a feeling of complete exhaustion. I get intense, shooting pain immediately after I finish a set of leg press or hack squats(provided I hit them hard enough). After I rack the weight, I sit there and grimace like I'm giving birth for a good 5 seconds before the pain starts to dissipate and I'm able to pull myself up and walk around.
Bent over db laterals done after side laterals also makes for some intense delt pain, but not nearly to the extent that I feel in my legs.

I have to go with heavy deads or super heavy rack pulls. Sometimes I do shout profanities :chomp: Maybe that's why no one talks to me at the gym :)

i was told by someone i trust very much when it comes to mind over matter stuff, and he told me that cussing is one of the worst things you can do, because it lets out that energy, and lets the weight beat you.

you gotta push HARDER and not cuss.

actually, i have no idea if thats even real, but it works for me.

during the set...id say incline bench of flat bench db press. afterwards...squats or deads. i dunno, during the actual set, i usually find a way to squat and get it back up or hit another rep in deadlift, but bench i struggle with.

I don't do it during the sets but generally right after when I feel like my head is going to pop.

Running.

All the lifting stuff doesn't hurt one bit. Soreness doesn't equate to pain.

Agreed, running is the worst kind of mental torment. Lifting on the other hand is a vacation from the stresses of the real world.
