Where should I move to?!

pdaddyII

High End Bro

What's up strangers, been a hot minute. Hope all is well with my peeps.

So my fiance and I are looking to move within the next year but we are going mad trying to figure out the 'perfect' place. We are currently in drab ass northern OH and would love warmer weather. Some places we have/are looking into are CO (boulder, Fort Collins...) Florida (Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale...), Salt Lake/Park City Utah.

So where do you live and should we move there and why?

LOL, funny thing bro. apparently the original eta was april 2nd, and that meant that the days she could have gotten pregnant were when we had our trip in San Fran.

NOW shes saying that the baby is due 2 weeks earlier, AND that he is one pound bigger than normal? That to me means that she got pregnant before she said, which is when she was cheating on me. So fuck her its driving me crazy having to think of evil shit like this but she is the kind of girl who would really do something like this, lie about her date just to make me not mad right away and thinking im still maybe the dad. fuck her, i have nudes of her boobzim gonna post them everywhere, also her mom doesnt know she had an abortion with her ex, she thought it was a miscarriage and my ex said her mom would kill her if she ever found out it was really an abortion, so tmr im gonna tell her mom it was really an abortion lolol

but anyway bro ive never left cali and id probably say to stay away from here

Fuck bro, that's a hot heaping of drama right there. I feel you though on the evil thinking that goes on. DNA test all day FTW

Also, wait untill you know for sure it isn't yours before retaliating. Keep in mind anything can be used against you in court.

egypt because there's no internet

so-cal is also nice tho for weather, beaches, and mountains

We have tossed around the idea of Southern Cali, we aren't too familiar with it though...other then SD. You from Cali?

I'm voting for the colorado area, or possibly oregon

I think cali is a good fit, if you can adapt to the californication, not easy for all.

Yea, we are most partial to CO. I have a brother in Boulder and she has a sister in Denver. We are scheduled to fly out there in a couple of weeks to check out a few cities. I just know that I would miss being by the water and not too keen on the winters there either.

not from here but i'm living in the bay area currently. which i am also in love with. but i'd probably choose so-cal given the choice. LA has so many different neighborhoods that there is really something for everyone imo. my uncle just moved to hollywood; his neighborhood is mad chill and tranquil, not at all what'd i'd expect. it is a gorgeous area

Thought you said you would love WARMER weather, bro? lol!

I know! These are places my fiance is really pushing for. I figure if I can't have the warmer weather then I'll at least settle for the 300+ annual days of sunlight compared to our current 73

If you do Utah go Park City. Going by your pics of trips I'd think you'd love it there. You'd be in Utah but it's not Utah (that'll make sense if you come here). Plus, I could lift up my man gunt and we could play tummy sticks.

deff cali...climate is soo much better the florida..and so is everything else minus the earthquakes

Move to Georgia and I will come over and drink all your beer a couple times a week.

Austin TX. Great economy, awesome people, youthful, high tech, outdoors oriented, very clean, massive live music scene, hill country, lots of quality education options, always near top of the lists for quality of life cities and places to live.

Cons are summer heat, and politics can get a little wacky (lib), traffic can get bad also. But other than that its badass town.

Where do you and the jacket reside?

Brrr at some of your choices....I could never.

I vote Austin, too. Lots of outdoors stuff, very low cost of living, got the lakes around there.

Beat me to it. I'd move back in a second if I could find work, but I'm in homebuilding, not tech, so Houston is where it's at for now. Also, the cost of living there is CHEAP.

One more thing is Austin is very segregated, not really on purpose but I think thats just the way the city turned out as far as what parts of the city everyone lives in. Also very easy to know when youre in the bad/good/industrial/commercial parts of town, very good zoning.

Colorado really seems like a great place, anybody here with personal experience on that???

We've had a house in Steamboat Springs since I was a kid. I've probably spent an average of one month a year there for the last 16 years. It's a great place. The winters are cold enough and snowy enough to be fun, but very rarely really brutal in any sense.

What??

I don't have any answers for you, Pdad. But, wherever it is you decide to move, I hope you thoroughly enjoy it.

How's that adorable daughter of yours, BTW?

what up, daddy? good to see you around.

we spent a week in st. augustine last summer...very nice...and the downtown has a very cool, laid-back vibe...it's beautiful, historic, artsy-fartsy, lots of great music and great places to eat, drink and be merry :)

Boulder as you prolly know is crazy $$, but ft collins is growing. im in denver, born and raised, cant complain. You might wanna check out the Wash Park area sometime.

I do go to Austin to party it up on 6th st a few times a year, but no way could i do that every weekend like my buds who live there.

st. augustine is pretty, it's like what sardinia is to italy, st augustine is to florida.

What city in Ohio?

I live in Toledo bro...and soooo burned out of living here it's sick.

So some quality suggestions here for sure. I'm going to go ahead and factor out Cali, nothing against it or the peeps there but just not for me. Besides I have some crazy ass family that live there and moving closer would NOT be a good thing.

I have spoken to my fiance about Austin and it seems she has lived in Houston before for school. She says that she has been there and has friends there, as well as having heard nothing but great things about it. I have been researching it a bit and coming up with some great feedback, especially on citydata forums. I also scoped out the housing market and it appears as though we could live like a couple rockstars with what our budget will afford us there.

I am going to start looking into planning a trip out there. is there any particular time you residents would suggest or any places? BTW how are the school systems, in case I want to give her an offspring and all.

april and may are teh nicest times to visit; anything later than that gets fooking hot. Eanes is by far the best school district in the area, and probably one of the best in the state. I think it ranks solidly nationally too. are you gonna be traveling wit child?

damn toledo is shit from where i been, the hood is right next to U T

No doubt, there are little hoods scattered throughout the city. They really aren't segragated to just a particular 'side' of town unfortunatly. My fiance works in a local ER and I work in a trauma ICU so we see the cities finest. It appears to be getting worse and worse. I'm not sure if it's just shit coming down from Detroit or what but this town is headed downhill. What were you doing out this way?

Good to know, thanks a lot. Those would be the months that would work out best for us anyways, sweet.

I will not be moving with child. She will be starting school this year and my visits will be limited to every other holiday and prolonged summers. It works out this way with her being 2.5hrs north as is. I have essentially been waiting for her to start school before even considering a move further away.

playin baseball against UT, saw a mudhens game too

repost old man.

Like I was going to go through every post to find out.

Austin is a great solution probably. Good jobs in Health Care and IT. No income tax and plenty of vibe for that city.

My only knock against it is I always compare it to the old Austin. Ahh...what a place. It was 450,000 people there not too long ago - not a chain restaurant in sight. I loved that place - current Austin - not so much.

Yeah it's blowing up bigtime. Unfortunately it always happens that the really cool stuff about a city that attracted people in the first place gets lost when the place grows so much.
