Where did this affront to the English language originate from??

"Your" in the place of "You're". Where did it come from? It's RAMPANT. Every forum/article/site on the net seems to make this mistake... I mean I can understand the usage of "lol" "ROFL" and all these other abbreviations, but "YOUR"? This is beyond retarded... Who started this??!

Because you can't tell johnny he did it wrong. It may hurt his self asteam (I can't spell either). Just like math, 2+2 = 4, but if susy says it's 5, well that's OK.

Also a lot of it is lazyness. People shorten words to make it easier to say/type, like PROLLY instead of PROBABLY.
