I hope you found the peace you were seeking?

or

You are now free of your demons.

WTF? He's dead. It's like saying "glad you are dead so you are at peace." Why not say "sorry you COULDN'T find peace earlier."

And free of his demons? He's dead. He free of everything now. Including any cares about these so called demons.

These are really lame sayings.

Yeah I think these are lame sayings too but I guess its similar to saying Happy Birthday in a different way for dead people. :whatever:

It's difficult to say something not too lame on such moments

Probably because it's better than saying "Yep, now they're worm dirt."

I usually say... I bet its really hot wherever it is they went because they were such a douche bag in this life. Even if its not true it usually starts a roaring debate and isn't that a lot better than just standing around boohing over a corpse?

Really..... there isn't much you can say! But you can sincerely listen, if the grieving person wants to talk, and that is probably the best thing we can do!

We can also just do things for the grieving family, but should stray away from the all too common "If there is anything I can do just let me know"..... like the grieving family is going to ask you for anything....

Cause no one wants to say "This f*cker is actually going to hell, its all over folks"

Especially if they were catholic.

Maybe this thread should be called "When someone dies, their family and friends should be allowed to say whatever the fuck they want."

It's because, at that time, the grief causes you to grasp at any straw which might mitigate the pain you're feeling. The period of denial inhibits any concept that the person has completely ceased to exist so it's nice to wish them well but, most of all, there's some mental imbalance until the intensity of the grief subsides so anything goes.
