her: yea but i didnt want to say it like that

i was thinkg to myself what the hell? calling someone black isnt racist. i dont see anyone getting all bunched up when someone calls someone white boy.

Hell I'm in SC and the blacks call themselves blacks or natives. Afro-american they don't use that term, ever.

When she says white people - she means it as an insult.

She in the 6+ years I've known her never said white couple.




But the point really is why are people afraid of saying "black people".

They're not where I live. I live and work with them. I refer to them as black all the time. Such as, when describing a person to a co-worker, I will say, "He was a black guy or He was a white guy." People that are afraid to say black are just cowards and part of the problem, not the solution.

I take it on a case by case basis. If someone is of another race, and I don't know them well, I ask what they'd prefer to be called.

If they happen to be friends, I call them whatever the hell I want. Ususally something degrading.
