what interests me about this story is the reaction of those covering for mcguire. the most typical reaction is that mcguire is clean because of his work ethic, LaRussa and company are saying, like mark he earned his muscles the old fashioned way whereas jose never put any effort into it. they are implying that roiders are lazy ass fuckers who need to cheat to succeed cause they are too lazy to put forth any effort whereas my boy mark worked his ass off to get big. what a line of shit. where was this observation when jose was helping you get to the world series three straight years.
roids just give you a better return on your investment in smart training. what canseco accomplished, there was real effort and work in that, too. his accomplishments are not insignificant. and he wasn't the only one doing it - that's what they want you to believe but we all know now, even without the book, that was obviously not the case.
and to tell you the truth i can't blame him for ratting out some people. what he is saying was already known by anybody with half a brain, no big surprises there. what we see now is the condescending hippocrites who are standing by their line of BS to joe public. it all makes me laugh as they continue to shit all over jose which is probably what got to him in the first place. its just now the gloves are off, and one guy is honest and the others are lying fools. and the lying fools will probably continue to walk the walk and talk the talk, cause this is what people want to believe. meanwhile jose needs to watch his back for striking back at the people who shit on him and for standing up for what he believes.
it is ironic cause so many people have been wanting someone to advocate a case for steroids to the public. see even your all-american boy bigmac was using and look how well it worked for him. but on the other hand jose's public image will not make him a good spokesman for anything.
