haha Just interested to know some of this stuff. Would also like to know the WR on military presses and barbell curls too. Might have to make a seperate thread for those. haha ThanX for the feedback!

ive not seen a big demand for incline bench press contests. :D

thats like having dbell shoulder press record....hehehe.

im sure there are some big weights moved nonetheless, i believe WSB'ers use it as a ME movement. so there is bound to be some big #'s.

you come up with some interesting stuff WB. hehe.

If you are getting #275 for 9(nine) on Inclines brother, there is no way you should be at only(only, meaning in your case, not that that is smalltime weight--cause it is serious weight indeed) #335 for your single. Try focusing more on heavy weight triples, than heavy weight reps. It is obvious to me from looking at your lifts, that you spend the majority of your worksets doing higher reps, and thus it shows in that you are doing rather heavy poundages(speaking on Inclines) for quite a few reps. If you focused moreso on heavy weight for low reps as your worksets though, I guarantee you some serious poundage increases on that #335 Raw Incline weight. You should definitely be able to do more, and thus IF you tweaked your training a tad, could probably achieve your goals on Incline rather quickly in my opinion.

haha ThanX Nate! I used to search the net for these records before I found elite. Was also looking for the barbell hack lift record, if there is one haha. Incline really is my strong point, if I worked on it as I do my bench, Im sure it would exceed my flat bench. ThanX :D

i doubt there are any offical records of an incline press. the closest thing youll get to a military record is the standing press, that used to be done in olympic lifting. and i believe the nasa has a division called "power-sports" where they actually compete with the curl. so you might look up nasa on that one.

Hey Atomic! ThanX alot for the compliment and training advice! The reason my incline max is so low, is because I havent really focused on it yet. Ive been mainly focusing on flat bench for the last 2 years, still training my inclines, but not nearly as many sets and priority as the flat bench. My training is kind of strange, I use alot of singles, triples, doubles and on my way back down with the weight Ill usually try to rep out. So I hit all rep ranges really. Eventually when I focus on inclines over flat bench for a while, I think theyll increase pretty quickly. 335 went up pretty fast when I did it. Ive also done 365 assisted for multiple reps and 405 assisted on the incline, often grabbing anyone to spot me. But its so much different when its all you against the weight. Most of it is mental IMO. ThanX alot for the inspiration Atomic! :D

ThanX LiftBig! Maybe I can look up Nasa and find some information. ThanX!

ThanX Sin! If those are world records they fucking suck bro! haha Some 300lb guy can do 305 for 7 on the incline?? WTF and some 220lb guy hack deadlifted 600 Im 185 and already hit 585. Thats insane. Are these world records? ThanX

Neat questions man. I've often wondered the same thing!

I've read about a number of top pros who can do a few reps with 495 on the incline press. Chris Cormier, Kevin Levrone and Dennis James can knock off a few at that weight. I haven't heard of Ronnie doing BB inclines, but he's repped out with 200s so I wouldn't doubt it for a second.

It's also been verified that Victor Martinez could a single with it, shortly after I contest IIRC. I also bet Johnnie O. Jackson could kick 495's ass.

I can't say much about the good old barbell curl...I know Arnold did a few cheat curls with 275, but strict? Oy...no clue what the record might be, and it depends on the definition of strict :)

There was a thread a couple months ago with a guy inclining about 600 lbs or so I think. He had the bar loaded to the max with 45's. Can't remember who it was...

pro strongman shawn smith, can strict standing press 385 i believe. i know one guy here in west ky that cna incline 500 for 1.

Nice! The strongest incline I ever witnessed was 455x2. That was nice! ThanX for all the feedback everyone! :D

This is an interesting thread.

There was a guy who was capable of inclining 675lbs on the smith machine. . .can't remember the name.

As far as the free barbell goes. . most pro bodybuilders can't use much more than 500lbs.

I would really be suprised if the world record is higher than 625lbs. . . it would be interesting to find out.

MULE1. . what weights have you used on the incline?

ThanX for all the great responses guys! 455x2 is strong as fuck haha, One of these days. Also heard that Manfred Hoeberl cheat curled 455, or so it says in his book I believe. Nice Keep em coming

I think that there are pics out there with Greg Kovaks working with 585lbs on the incline press.

I must admit I've never seen a picture of him pressing at any anglewithout being on a smith machine.

I think that was on the smith, but I have seen pics with him working out with 495lbs on the incline barbell.

guld, I'm not certain about non-bodybuilders, but I believe Johnny Jackson claims a 505 incline for 6, at a bodyweight of around 220. I know he has flatbenched 540 in competition weighing 216 here in Texas.

I have seen Ian Harrison a bodybuilder out of the UK handle 200lb dumbbells on the seated press.

Yup Harrison is a monster, didn't Mule1 say he could do like 160's for 30 or something?
