Whats Best For Loosing Weight, The Bike or Running?

I like doing the bike at the gym, because i hate running in this humidity. Whats the difference in muscles that are worked out?

If you have access to the stair climber, I suggest you get on that. If you climbe 120 floors worth of stairs, you will certainly sweat and burn calories.

stick with running... though i've heard that spinning classes are a great cardio workout. if humidity bothers you that much, most every gym has treadmills.

The thread asks which is best for losing weight, but the question asks which muscles are worked...?

Running and cycling both work the whole leg. The big muscular difference is running really hits the hams and cycling really hits the quads.

I have done every type of cardio known to man. I am a cardio freak. The two best cardio types are running and gauntlet. if you dont know what the gauntlet is, its the big ass stair case, where real stairs actually come down. It kicks some ass. As for running, try to change it up. Do distance 2 times per week, and sprinting two times per week.

ok heres a more specific question. When doing the bike, i often pedal hard enough to get out of the "fat burn" zone and into the "cardio" zone. To stay in fat burn you have to keep your heart rate at about 135, but i have to pedal real slow to do that, so is it really burning fat? What about with running, should i try to slow it up to lower my heart rate???
