I generally post on weekends...I can find my last post a week ago within the first two pages, assuming it wasn't on an abyss thread that goes to the sub forums which nobody looks at except for a handful of the usual suspects. Basically, C&C is "thread limbo" where threads wait to get moved to their respective sub-forum. I've pointed out a number of times that C&C should reflect C&C in real life but politics, entertainment, religion ,fashion and all the other things that reflect C&C IRL with your friends and co-workers is banned on EF C&C and relegated to sub-forums or even sub-forums of sub forums.

lazy fucks are actually working out again and reading the forums that made EF to begin with.

1.Because it got to the point where you couldn't say anything to anybody unless it involved rainbows and unicorns.
2. People were made mods who had NO BUSINESS being a mod and things got extremely unfair around here.
3. Certain People, mods included could start shit and provoke anybody they liked and when that person said anything back they were bombed or banned.

Was meant to add this too but somehow i created two threads:
September 11th today...I remember being on here while the attacks happened. The thread was obviously 15+ pages within an hour and had been bumped every year since but I suppose not many are here now from that time to do so? I even remember the names who were posting in that thread. One of them was plifter who got the P8ss taken out of him for posting ridiculous c*ck pictures lol.
I think Javaguru has a good point. I remember posting a politics thread and a sport one, both were moved to sub forums where nobody read them. WHY??? Nobody reads your threads, no communtiy develops. It got boring for me for this reason so I stopped posting...I think I actually signed up in 2000. Not good business EF!

Sure, but those threads tend to just be people saying 'where have the old guys gone...'
I'm not saying that. Of course people will leave but I'm talking about stats here...even when all these sub forums were first introduced it seemed quite a lot busier around here.
Having said that, there should be more old members here. Like the sign of a good company (to work for) is low employee turnover, isn't the sign of a good forum low turnover in members?
i think it's beyond EF control...chatting on boards seemed to really blow up right around 2000 when it was fresh and new.
no facebook, no twitter, etc...now with these other mediums, plus hundreds of new boards that have sprang up, really not much ef can do about it.

I bet social networking has affected traffic to chat forums but I've seen some on the net which are way more popular than this one. I doubt social networking accounts for even 25% of the decrease in traffic.
there is a handful of rival boards that have sprang up
from ex members here.
so that def soaked up some traffic...but even those boards,
with one in particular being the best (good joose info there), there traffic isn't moreso than here, def slower.
i think EF at one time had the chance to blow like bb.com did (site is caking millions $) but they missed the window for whatever reasoning.

Indeed. Not only is it a retarded concept, but the total lack of consistency is even more laughable. They are basically there for when one or two mods gets into a tizzy and basically wants to use the sub forums as an excuse to move a topic they dont like for whatever reason.

They could move all the sub-forums considered *social*, as Java suggested, back into chat and require topical icons for threads (ie: a camera for film threads, a Stilleto for fashion, and an arrowed and flayed St. Sebastian for Pick3 flaming mo threads). Then peeps could use these visual cues to pop onto threads they were interested in.

Yep. There were no social networking boards back then, so the C&C subforum of EF provided an outlet for people who came for the AAS and training info to hang out and socialize.

I meant, and should have said, all the threads specific to these subforums could be moved back into chat (as a whole) and use simple icons with the thread title to denote a particular threads' subject matter.

I'm sure there's an ebb and flow to EF and it could prolly be graphed out in some fashion. I'm equally sure that EF has lost some of its fire these days. I don't know enough to comment
on the lack of traffic relative to the aforementioned ebb and flow. However I do understand admin / management. No expert on the internet, but most business principles are universal
and therefore can be cross referenced.
There are inconsistencies regarding rules and the enforcement of rules. I'm not talking about a little human error or other natural imperfections in the structure, but rather glaring
egregious problems. There are people in positions of authority who do not need to be and i dare say they have no such position in real life. A business is only as strong as its
management team and the management team is only as strong as its weakest link. Furthermore, there's a denial posturing and or intolerance for ideas and suggestions that make
sense.
A business is not successful just by virtue of its longevity. Steady growth and a commensurate profitability are much better indicators. The arguement, " EF goes through this
all the time and there were threads like this 5 years ago." only serve to concrete my point

you are right about it not being banned...it was at one time though...no warning nothing.
I only created a couple of alters to try to speak up about the BS going on and they were banned, I never tried to be somebody else though.

not versed in internet business. I would be hard pressed to speak definitively
on the subject. My observations are strictly subjective and instinctual. The only
thing i can say with authority is there are people in positions of authority who
do not need to be.
There should be s strict criteria for choosing moderators. It needs to be
consistent and firmly rooted in managment type core competencies. There
could be a policy and procedure pamphlet involved. This would serve to
make things more uniform and consistent.
I think the board is a victim of reactionary management. This occurs and
is fairly common, when an organization is having difficulties and admin
shifts culture to the other extreme. It's an easy problem to solve, but there
has to be an awareness and company wide cooperative effort.
