What to do when you realize you have no party???

Having no strong party affiliation is hardly motivation to move or found a new party or throw my patio furniture around.

Paulo .....you be trying cccclllllleennbbuuterollll? Wicked.

2 party system is flawed. One or other - so it comes down to choosing the lesser of two evils. But in this case its anyone but Bush for me.

The pro's of two party systems is that red-tape is reduced. Less parties = less issues to deal with. But I think overall our system is flawed.

Enjoy your over 200 year old electoral system. :lmao:

The US electoral system is a joke, sorry.
do you not understand the reason's for the electoral college?
in a nutshell it allows for the 40 some odd smaller states to have a voice
otherwise candidates would only campaign in the Calis,Ohio's and Florida's
do you know who the band of guys was that set it up like this?
what other 200 year old conventions in our country do you consider a "joke"?

I'll be the first one to say that there are many merits to the Electoral College, but the biggest problem with it is that it forces parties to condense down until there are only two. Right now a third party can receive a significant portion of the popular vote, but still receive no electoral votes. There's no way another party can break into the scene against that kind of stranglehold.

that' s a good point
but you know the electoral college is only for electing to the executive branch
a 3rd party could still manage to be represented well in the house, and to a lesser extent even the senate
too bad the libetarian party can't get the "ball rolling" as I do believe there is enough sentiment in the country for a viable alternative
still though,at the moment much of the lib party is too far out on the fringe
on another note,IMO the real long term affects on a nation's course is the supreme court appointees
and that is what is key when choosing a president
