what to do for stomach pudge?

hey bro's. well I've been at it for 7 weeks and my weight seems to have stagnated at 180. I was gaining weight really fast for 6 weeks and now notta. I have gained a lot of muscle and a lot of fat. My abs look like shit and where my chest and stomach meet there is now a big crease. I can still suck the gut in though if that counts for anything. So far I have done no cardio and just ate lots of protein and then just whatever the hell I wanted to. What would you do if this were your circumstance? btw I think bf is probably in the 15 or so percentile.

I've made gains and look like absolute shit for it.

It depends on what you're looking for. For me, if I'm gaining in muscle size and strength then I don't give a shit about gaining some fat, but for other people it gets them all scared. I'm not looking to get ripped any time soon, but I'm also not looking at doing weight loss advertisements, so this is what I do - I ususally go for about 10 or so weeks eating whatever I see, making big gains in the amount I can lift, in the size of my muscles and in my bodyfat. After that I usually have a little 'cut down' period where I cut down the amount of carbohydrates I'm having, but I make sure that I keep up the protein. Also, during this time I throw in a bit of cardio in the mornings before food every morning. I do this for about 2 weeks and the gains usually slow down at the gym, but I lose bodyfat to get it down to what it was before I started the last bulking period. Then I do it all over again.

From your own perspective, I would cut down on the unnecessary foods that you've been eating. Proper nutrition is key to showing those abdominals. Good job on the LBM increase though, just eat a little better and you should see some results

im more of a fan of maintaining a lower bodyfat %, so i keep my cals under control. you could up your cardio in the morning to try to get a good afterburn for the day, then eat a bit more sensibly. maybe not EVERYTHING in sight, but maybe everything with a lower fat content. could help.

I read somewhere that you'll find your abs in the kitchen, not the gym. You'll have that gut for as long as you don't diet or do cardio.

Might as well go another week or two doing what you're doing. Then start hitting the diet and cardio for at least 12 weeks.

thankyou all for the excellent posts, some of the best advice yet on this subject, I'll go three more weeks and then start hitting the cardio , and cutting back a little on the food, I'll let you know of my progress, again, thanks ;)

When you say "Cutting back on the food", make sure you are cutting back on the fatty food...
The trick for me was the magic of OATMEAL...
The old fashioned shit without all the sugar.
