what to do about back spasm....

hey now.
i had a back spasm yesterday before my lift while i was getting dressed.
i was planning on doing some heavy deads so it kinda pissed me off. i wanted to lift anyway so i did a chest workout and some
stretching. its in the middle part of my back that got the spasm now all the muscles around it are really sore and kinda hurt. i'm juiced up on alleve right now. i was wondering what kind of activity i should do to help the healing process.
p.s.
i've gotten this spasm in the same area about a year ago while doing squats. havent done them since.

just rest your back for a while and then take extra care with your warm ups. Nothing worse than a back injury...
 
Be careful! I had a back spasm that turned into 2 months of PT. It would stop hurting after a good warm-up so I thought I was helping it. WRONG!

Take it easy for a bit to see if it goes away.
 
drink lots of water...are you on creatine? definetly try to avoid it if its spasmed up. A muscle that is in a contracture is weak
