This is the truth, I swear , so take it for what its worth. I have built my calves up 2+ inches in the past 6 monthes using almost no weight. I have always had bigger arms than calves, though nothing outrageous. Anyway, I had tried hitting em super heavy and multiple or limited days per week. Basically everything. Last few months, I have moved to working them only with body resistence. I stand on the back of the bench or donkey style off the end and I do super slow full range double contraction at the top sets of 50+. I do 2 exercises like this per workout and about 5 sets per exercise. I hit em twice a week. I know it goes against everything most say about calve growth, but lighter high volume has been incredibly effective for me. I don't know why or how, but I thought I'd share. Maybe it won't work for most, but I swear this has been my experience. I'll probably alternate between this and heavy training to keep it varied. Claves are definitely the hardest muscle group to figure out.
