Not sure where to post this, so ill try here

What exactly is a cycle? I hear that word thrown around a lot

If i am trying to lose bf and gain some muscle, what would be a good 'cycle'. Im 18, 5 ft 9 in, 175

cycle usually refers to a "steriod cycle." You can find all the info you need by using the search function, or by visiting the anabolic board.

Cheers

At 18 years of age, the absolute best cycles consist of the following top four nationally known matter:

1) Bicycles
2) Motorcycles
3) Unicycles
4) Tricycles

Each one is equally affective in utilizing wheel rotation in regards to the complexity of the axel-gear-foley incorporated with the tribulus terrestris of the upper mandibular crankshaft function. Actual variance on the compliance of the reliance of the finance, would indicate only a mere involuntary regenuflection, thus housing the same amount of energy no matter what the chosen apparatus.

Translation: They are all great cycles! :D

Sorry you haven't gotten a straight response yet. Something must be wrong with the boards lately where a new guy asking a straightforward question gets jerked around. That stuff goes to the chat board, not here.

Cycles don't just apply to steriods. They apply to a sequence of events that is planned, with a predefined start and end. In fitness, there are many different kinds of cycles.

I have a 4 day exercise 'cycle.' Every 4 days, it starts all over again.

You should 'cycle' certain supplements, like creatine. Go one month of an 'on' cycle, and one month of an 'off' cycle.

I also am in a 'bulking' cycle - a period of time where I try to gain weight and muscle. Some people are in a 'cutting' cycle - losing fat while maintaining/not losing/slightly gaining muscle.

Also, it does apply to steriods, too, but I suggest staying away from them on the basis of your age until 22 or so.

Thnx Synpax for the reply. I dont want to be a boldybuilder by any means, but i do want to lose weight and gain muscles. I was highest at 240 when i was 16, then i was 160 at 17 and depressed, constantly doing cardio and dieting. Now, i lift and keep running a bit and im leaner than ever and weigh 180.

Is there anything besides protein powder that can be used for enhanced energy/growth?

For energy you can try some creatine. For muscle growth you absolutely have to be eating protein. Try to aim for at least 1 gram per lb.

Touche brotha, touche..............it's gonna be okay!

Humor from time to time is fine, lord knows I provide straight answers all day.

I take it you haven't seen 89% of the threads at Elite!

Protein builds muscle. Energy mostly comes from carbs for your cardio and workouts.

Oh, and I caution you against messing with creatine just yet at the expense of eating something real like oats or dextrose or one of those new wraps at Subway.

Damn those are tasty.

believe me, I WILL NEVER EAT AT SUBWAY!!!

My senior year of high school (last year) i worked the full year, and the smell and taste makes me wanna throw up, plus i know what hapenns behind the counter.

Oh btw, i have like a thousand of those subway cards saved up, so just in case i go broke in college, i can survive on the bare minimums.
