Maybe you missed the anabolic forum? There are 30 some odd different forums at EF each covering a different topic and in some cases form of general bullshit.

The anabolic forum is the first one at the top of the main page. You are currently in the Training forum.

As for MM2K - Bill Philips made himself some money and sold the magazine. I think it's still called Muscle Media but "2000" doesn't sound so progressive now that it's 2005.

Make sure you take your meds to alleviate the paranoia, if you start to hear voices or see things - call your doctor immediately. I'll do my part by providing you the link to the anabolic session, good enough for at least a 20 minute reprieve: http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 :)

Conspiracy theory? May be!

O.K. Seriously know.. Most make fun or take thing alooas to what is really happening in the world.. SOme, Naively belief is you ramdom events, other more balance believe that things are influeced, and on the other extreme there are those who belief there is a system that controls everything.

As for myseld, I believe there is a little of everything and it all depends on the variable involved on the equations.

Laugh, but THINK about what has happened to BILL PHILLIPS.. As and old saying goes in spanish (and a crude translation) :The devil knows from his experience that just being the devil.

He is the ONE that "mainstreamed" this steriod issues.. True, steriod have always been there, but little it was know about their efficacy. Only underground the knowledge and the attribute of this substances was understood. His magazine MM2K by far exceeded anything I have seem in the market. If you read the magazine from the begining to the end, you will know what I am talking about.

Something happened, .. if you dont belief me, try to adquire some use copies.. you will see how hard it is.

My hypotesis is that bill got in to someones turf, and he was forced to pull out. MM2K was an extremely popular magazine, the change to just MM was for a reason.. a radical change...

And this is just a tiny example of thing that happen everyday. Like they say.. evert truth has to side.. just like a coin! Is on part yells is cold, and the other yells is hot.. then may be is plain warm. Just as you dont invest were most people do, you dont accept with though what most people accept without questioning. Is is wise to see the whole picture, not just is contents.

It is an error to accept things without questioning. WHen you give up that, you gave up yourself.

MY two CENTS! :coffee:

loths - for the most part steroids are damn boring and have changed little in the past 30 years. There's just not that much to talk about and really the only people who like to talk about it are the people who are brand new to them. Even Dan Duchaine was tired as hell of talking about steroids. In one of his articles he put up a letter from someone asking him why he didn't write about them much and he not only expressed the same feeling but also that he didn't have anything left to write and that the overwhelming majority of his roid related questions were from people who were asking him basic questions that had already been answered and explained.

The steroid thing was Bill's first angle. Later as he moved further away from his involvement in drugs he became interested in training methodology and new legal supplements like Creatine and MetRx that had studdies behind them. Basically this model was, dispel the Weider myth and let naturals know how they can train without drugs and make solid gains (this is a far bigger, more profitable, and dare I say more noble cause then the previous mucho drug coverage). Scott Connelly fucked him on a MetRx distribution deal (by selling directly and cutting his distributors out of the loop) and EAS was born out of that (not too shabby). I don't think dropping the 2000 from the Muscle Media name is really relevant to anything other than it not sounding so progressive as we got closer to the new milenium. So Bill's thing eventually became inspiring natural lifters to be the best they could be. He promoted natural lifting, sponsored natural lifters as spokespersons, payed for research studies into supplements, ran contests for naturals. I don't see this as an insidious progression but merely someone growing and their purposes and goals changing with them. It's not like he was secretly doing mega juice while this was going on and just laughing while he reaped financial gain, even when MM2K was in it's prime he had already finished his run.

I don't see Phillips and the whole MM2K thing as the "man" taking over and keeping roiders down, I see it as a natural progression. Let's face it, as you get older your priorities change and the progression reflects Bill's change. Shit, if anything was done for pure business and money it was the initial MM2K the model of which was pure sensationalism to blow the cover off of drug use (a silent untapped market). Switching away from roids threatened his entire reader base yet his magazine was quality enough to allow it to happen. You can see it as you want to see it but looking back adds a lot of perspective and I respect the guy for what he accomplished and what he tried to do.
