I don't know any specific types of diets, but I can link u a tip to eat healthier which is an important step IMO.

- Switch all white flour for whole wheat, cut all pastries out

- try the search button, it's helped me out on numerous occasions

Good luck!

Welcome :wavey:

From your name, I'm guessing you're female...?
If so, have a looksy on the women's board for major info on diet, training...and a little of bit of everything. :D

Hello Torontogurl_18

Give us a little info on yourself like
How old are you? (I would say 18 by your name)
How much do you weight?
How tall are you?
What is your Cardio and workout like?

With this info we can tell you how many Cal's,Pro,Carb's and Fat you should be having each day.

Like flex4life said check out the womens board the lady's know thier stuff.

Thanks!! But I still need more info!

Thanks for the advice so far, it is greatly appreciated! I am 18 years old, 5'3 or 4, about 145 lbs. When i gain weight it mainly goes to my ass and thigh area...IT bothers the hell out of me!!!!
Anyhow I have started to work out from at least 3-5 times a week. I workout to aerobics step. At the end of the video i have to do sit ups and push ups. I do it gfor about an hour.
I am going to try to buy a video that has to do with weight lifting too. I havn't really started that yet because I don't have the weights to start. I have to go buy them still. All I want to do is lose wieght for now..and if in the long run i gain a bit of muscle, it's all good! :)
I hope i can get more of a diet plan from anyone though. I usually eat cereal with 1 per cent milk in the morning. At lunch i'll eat soup, or tuna. and at dinner i'll hvae fish with veggies or pasta with no sauce!
I hope someone can lead me into the right direction.
Thanks again!!;)

TG,
Just want to encourage you to get into the weight training. It sounds like you want to change your body shape.

Many gals gain weight in hip & thigh area... after endless step aerobics, cardio, etc... they are just smaller versions of the same 'pear' shape. Resistance training is the only way to change body shape.

Muscle is metabolically active tissue... adding muscle to a body increases calories burned all day long, as opposed to cardio training: calorie burning ends when the cardio ends- sure there is a slight 'afterburn'... yet this is minimal & temporary.

Get a couple of 10lb DB to start- it makes the fat loss so much easier. Who cares what you weigh unless you're going to print it on a tee shirt & walk around town? A leaner, tighter body looks better & clothes fit better.... and will get rid of the 'pear'.

I like to tell gals fearing weights...'Muscle gives your skin something to do.' Without muscle, skin just hangs there.
Good luck & get to it :)

Hi Torontogurl_18

Lets see at you weight your Cal's should be around 1740 thats your weight (145 x 12).
Your Protein, Carbs and Fat are from a 50/30/20 diet.

Protein - 217.5
Carb's - 130.5
Fat - 38.66

You want to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day about 2 1/2 hours apart or 3, this will keep your Metabolism up all day.
You should do your Cardio in the morning before you eat and do it for about an hour. From what i have read the first 30 min's works on the energy in your blood an after that it needs more energy and will go after body fat before muscle.

You should drink about a gallon of water aday.

You can get your fat from Flaxseed oil and some protein from your shakes.

Get yourself some Multi Vitamins and a Fatburner if you want to take it.

Some foods to eat:

Oatmeal in the morning after Cardio and on mornings you don't have Cardio, with skim milk.
Tuna good for protein and low in carb's and fat.
Chicken Breast about 4oz boneless and skinless good for protein.
Brown rice good for carb's, not much fat or protein but it has some.

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more about your diet.
