What exactly is "Equal" sugar

I read the packet really quickly and thought I saw maltodextrin and dextrose on it. Why is that a desirable sugar substitute? Those sugars have a GI of like 100.

If you wanted to sweeten your coffee and your choices were Sweet N Lo, Equal, or regular Sugar wouldn't the best choice by Sweet N Lo? That is what I have been using since it has nutrasweet. Ideally, I wish the free coffee they had at school had Splenda packets :) , but you can't complain when it is free.

More ideally I wish the 6pm class I have came with an exciting teacher with a comprehendable accent.

My mom carries around a baggie of Splenda in her purse. We'll be in a restaurant, she'll order a coffee and whip out her baggie and offer Splenda to everyone at the table. I laugh at her all the time for it, but I think it's a smart thing to do.

I gave up coffee... again... maybe I'll last longer than 3 months this time :worried:

There's nothing wrong with caffeine in moderation. My problem is, I love coffee. I end up drinking about six cups of coffee a day before I know it. It makes me feel like crap and I get crazy mood swings. I love the taste of it and the act of drinking it. In addition, I have an obsession with my teeth... that's mostly my driving force :chomp:

I would never discourage anyone else from drinking it, it's just that it's not healthy for me .

if your goal is to not gain or lose weight then equal/sweet-n0low is fine. If its overall health and wellness your worried about go with the splenda...or better yet stevia, its a natural herbal sweetener that is pretty good
