You dont think Arnold is is the same league as Ronnie or Flex? Give arnold some gh or Igf1 at the doses Ronnie and BB's of today take and watch him explode!

No, Arnold has Apolonian phisique (he said it himself). People like Ronnie/Marcus have Herculian phisisques. Look at his oyoung pictures (when he is 16 and been training for 2 years). Now look how Ronnie/marcus looked before training and you will understand whatI mean. marcus HAD BIGGER muscles than arnold, even though murkus did not work out and arnie did. I guess Flex/Ronnie are similiar to marcus.

I have shit genetics. I've been working out hard for about 3 years and I've only grown from 11 to 13.4 inches on my arms, I only bench 155(reps) and I am just now starting to rep 200 on squats. I'm 19, I weigh a scant 157 lbs. I'm tired of working out and putting in all this effort of strict dieting, exercise, all that crap, and getting no results. Some days I go to the gym and ask myself "Why am i even bothering?", but I realize that if I dont work out, where would I be? I wouldnt even be as big as I am if I didnt go to the gym and its certainly not hurting.
Well there ya go.

i like them on my arms grow....like shoulder/traps/bis/tris/......very good....verry gooood...my chest and back is verrrry good too but they dont grow like my arms/shoulders:)
 
I am a very hard gainer, but i found eating right and working can overcome genetic disabilities. I recently put on 4 lbs in the last week and a half and lost some body fat. Its all about putting your mind to it and making your body work for you.
 
I have pretty good genetics. There are some things that I wish I could break that genetic barrier on to improve... BUT, one things for sure... I DEFINITELY GET PLENTY OF CHICKS!!!
 
I've got great genetics - get big and strong easy. Huge calves and quads, popeye forearms, strong joints.

Just wish I had the better discipline - but we're working on that.

Get Smart, Work Hard, Diet Hard = Massive and Ripped (repeat 20 times a day)
 
It took me 15 years of natural training and one test replacement cycle to develop 20" arms, so i wasn't quite sure, so I put average. (I'm tall, so it isnt like a LarryScott 20")

I don't know what you've been reading, but I've read several of arnold's books(ok, all of them) and in each he considers his physique(learn how to spell it, bro, alright) to be herculean.
 
I think I got good geneticks , gain weight easy , cock strong as the day is long , got some legs that piss me off they grow so fast , can't keep a good pair of jeans

I'm just coming into my own right now. I had a couple of NPC judges tell me I have pro genetics. One is helping me out right now, as I have only really been training hard for 6 months or so.

He told me that I should be able to be a pretty good national competitor. That motivation is what helps me on those days that I don't feel like training. I'm just happy I hooked up with this guy as my training partner. He is showing me a lot of things that would have took me years to figure out for myself.

He has turned out a girl who competed in the Fitness Olympia and he and his brother have competed against Flex and DeMayo. This guy knows his shit. I figure a judge should be able to tell me truthfully without smoke being blown.

I'm not bragging and I'm not saying I'll be a pro, but I am happy that I got the right guidance now in my life...I am 28. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it.

Hang in there dude. When I was 15, I could have slipped through a steam grate.

I come from bird stock, so both my rents are thin, no predisposition whatsoever other than to get fat if you don't watch out.

At 26 or so, my metabolism changed almost overnight. Before, I could eat anything and do nothing, without gaining any weight. Afterwards, I was starting to gain weight, so I decided to start lifting - it worked.

I am definitely not huge, but between building an Internet company, getting married, and having 2 kids, I have been able to get up to 195 lbs (still growing), can bench reps of 260+, and am about 15% BF.

Enjoy it while you can, your metabolism may change soon, it seems to take 7 year cycles for a lot of people.

Don't give up man - I was exactly the same hieght/wieght as you only 2 years ago when I finally figured out that I had been overtraining and undereating all my life. Now I'm at 190 with 10% bf and I am sure that I will break 200 by xmas.

Try this:

big body parts twice a week
small ones once a week
3 sets of 6 reps ( you should either fail or alomost fail rep 6)
no more than 2 excercises per b.part

300g protien per day ( those new clear isowhey drinks rule - 80g a bottle)

at least 4 healthy hi-protein meals a day

try that until you are 21 then think about fina/dbol ( but only under the supervision of a physician ;-) )

also - read what the mods and experts here write...I've learned alot.

I think my genetics are really good but I wouldn't want to be a pro. Coming into highschool I was a 100lb twig, benching 100 lb. My senior year, I was 195lb benching 260 naturally. I have a pretty good body but I lift for strenght and endurance only. My goal is to wrestle in the olympics.
 
My genetics blow goat dick. Bigtime.

I have a small frame.

The biggest I could get naturally was in the 160's. Now, with the assistance of my wonderful EQ, I would be considered a very high step above average.

I WILL look like Arnold one day. Probably within 2 years. And that's a fact.

Meso-endomorph or endo-mesomorph, depending on my mood. Seem to gain lbm size easily, gain fat even easier. I *know* there's muscles down there in all that damn bf...
 
To damn tall, I weigh 195lbs w/9-10% but I'm 5'11,so i'm a bit thin for my taste.I want 215 or so with about 7% also i wish my chest responded better.so basically i really don't like my genes to much:rolleyes:
 
i like my structure, 6'2, 30inch waist, wide shoulders, have done 1000mg/week of test along with 100mg/ed dboll, 100mg/eod tren with absolutely no antiestrogens and did not get any gyno. so i think i have decent genetics, but man i have horrible calfs, the worst
 
6'2'' 230 naturally at 19...i havn't hit my genetic barrier yet so no need for gear yet...I've got the German blood and large frame to classify myself as having Arnold Potential...but i don't think i could compare myself to Ruhl or Coleman....maybe in the future...let me do a few cycles first and i'll get back to u at 26 :D
 
I'm 19 years old, I'm 6'4'' 299lb., bench over 450lb., I have 12.9% bodyfat (recently checked), and run a 4.8 second 40 yard dash.....

You Tell Me.....
 
Great natural strenth gains but dieting sucks I can hardly go below 10% and I stay around 12% bulking what gives. Running like the fuckin wind is the only way I can cut dieting fucks me up.

It all depends. My legs will grow if I run up a flight of stairs... Now, my arms on the other hand.. .while not small, are definately not in proportion in size or strength to my legs. So, I have great genetic legs/calves... but less than great upper-body.

ectomorph here, harder to put on muscle but i'd rather have a low bodyfat and be liberal in my diet than have to watch what i eat closely so i don't blow up like hiroshima
 
not too sure yet here.... thought i was an ecto, but then started eating and gaining weight. then hit the juice and really started eating and gaining more weight :) i guess i would have to say slightly above average. both parents are slim, so i really dont worry about fat all that much.

im the same as you, i put on 25lbs of LBM and dropped some pounds of fat from march to sept (naturally) but im still at like 20% bf so in november im gonna try and shed some of that
 
i'd say above average .
i've always been bigger and stronger then most of the kids my age. I am naturally about 225lbs at 6 ft, but a bit chunky. If i diet strictly i can get pretty lean fairly fast.
I got a big strong back, huge calves and fairly large quads, arms are'nt that big but i can handle that.
 
I am kind of right in the middle.I am not naturally a skinny person or a fat person.I dont have any problem bulking,I can gain a shit load of weight very quickly.I can also get pretty lean if I want to by adjusting my diet accordingly and doing some cardio.I guess I am happy with my genetics.
 
Slightly above average

I think alot of you guys are MISTAKEN good genetics as the ability to put on mass. I can pretty much get as big as I want or as thin as I want, simply alter nutrition and cardio. I mean who wants to baloon up to 280 w/ 17% bf... thats hardly impressive. I would rather stick around 225-230 7-8% bf.
When I think of someone with good genetics I think of someone with awesome peaks on their bi's, a FULL rounded chest, rounded delts, and V-shaped back, all 6 abs w/ cuts between all them, fully developed quads with a prominant teardrop, diamond shaped calves and veins running down their bi's and calves. All this while eating 2 fast food meals a day. Now thats what I call good genetics, not someone who can easily pack on pound after pound of off-season mass LOL
 
I like my genectics and at the same time I don't .


let me explain : I easily gain muscle mass and I am a very strong mofo, ok that is the good part.

now the bad : I can become a FAT ASS QUICKLY if I don't watch what I eat ....I have big a tendencie to get FAT and I have TONS of stretch marks that pisses me off ....

ALSO I hate my FRIGGIN CHEST AND ABS .....right now I am with 13.5 % body fat and 218 lbs .....arms are rock solid , shoulders are rock solid , back is amazing , legs are pretty good but my chest and my abs suck big time , most of my fat acumulates on my chest and abs ...so even when I was with 9.8 % bodyfat last year I had everything ripped but the abs and chest ....

damm , this sux .......I have to reach 5 % bodyfat to get ripped chest and ripped abs .......argggggggggggggg .....but I will reach it ......in my next cycle ....:D

I have no idea where I fit in. My weight is deceptivly high and most people who look would never guess me close to my weight. Do to that fact I am not as strong as my weight should prolly indicate. Due to childhood rhuemetoid arthritis I was never supposed to walk and my one leg is a bit smaller but im working on it. Not looking to compete, but would definatly like to turn heads in a crowd.
 
Symettry and shape

A lot of posts here are talking about size, but I think the most important genetic factors are symettry, proportions, and muscle shape since you either have these or you don't

Flex Wheeler or Bob Paris or Ronnie Coleman would have had fine physiques even if they'd never touched a weight. They're just outstanding examples of the human form.

I feel very lucky with my genetics and proportions. I've been training for twenty years and if my genetics were lousy, I doubt if I would have stuck with it this long. I see guys who work just as hard as me at the gym, year after year, and make very little progress. Maybe they're pursuing the wrong sport.

Good thing I discovered what I was built for, too! In school I was the worst distance runner ever. In gym class after a couple laps I weas lagging back with the fat girls.

Then I discovered what my muscle fibers were born for -- anaerobic lifting.
 
I have the exact same problem as Victor. I look at a weight and I grow. I'm 5'8", 230 lbs at 12% bodyfat. I have trained off and on for the past 10 years, completely natural. But I cannot, for the life of me, get below 12%. Except maybe now - I just finished my first dnp cycle.
 
I put on 40lbs in less than 3 years while dropping bodyfat from 15 to 10%. I'm on my 2nd cycle and I'm the strongest person of my size in my very crowded gym!! I weigh 197. I believe my genetics are good. Problem is my tris are so big and strong (8 dips with 120 hanging) that my bis seem inadequate, even though they are quite strong too.
 
I have PHENOMENAL genetics. The problem is, is that i'm a TOTAL F**K UP! I'm a recovering coke addict, which ruined 3 years of my life, i have a disc problem in my back that now requires surgery. I am drinking booze like a fish day-in and day-out because of the pain. I have no health insurance as of now, but i'm getting some within the next month or so. I'm 6'5" and 318 now with well over 20% BF. My best was 267 at 5.2% BF when i took the NPC Jersey in 1998. Talk about DEPRESSING, huh? BTW, i'm 100% Austrian, like Arnold. I think thats the only thing saving my sorry ass.

I am the epitome of a hardgainer. Graduated from college at 140 lbs. Changed diet and worked out hard and gained about 15 lbs. Last couple of months reached a plateau however. We'll see what happens with help from elitefitness.com.
 
From what I've been told, I've got great genetics. Freshman year high school (150), Soph (185), Junior (200), Sr. (225), Fresh College (235), ---last year of college football (280), which was in 1995. Last cycle was 97, today I'm bigger and leaner than ever. I'm 5'10", wear a 54 size coat, 38-40 pants, and weigh 270 now. My back is very, very wide. My calves are a little bigger than my biceps, and very cut. People seem amazed at the calves. I do have a little love handle area.

I'm at the point where I've been working hard to maximize my potential, and hopefully soon start cycling again. First, I want to make dieting, (preparing the food) a habit.

Took a month layoff, now after 3 weeks, I'm back to using 140lb dumbells for 8 on flat bench press on my 4th set., 235 for 8 strict reps on behind neck press. I'm really trying hard to do this right, but preparing food on a consistent basis is hard. I don't care about junk food, just preparing the right foods.

If anyone can offer any advice, I'm all ears...it's be greatly appreciated.
 
i have ok genitics .... i have to work hard to add muscle ..but on the god side i can eat what the fuck i want and not gain a pound!!

but what really pisses me off is the fact that my dad was 6'3 230 naturally (no gut) with great arms, pecks traps...he just looked like he worked out , although he didnt ...i just can explain it....i also remember when i was younger my dads friends tried to get him to work out , cuz they thought if he did he could be compete.
even now in his old age he's still bigger than me with broader shoulders...hehe....i think it must have been all the fish he ate growing up (grandfather was a fisherman)

and to top it all off all i inherited where my mums goddamn skinny legs!!

weekness include:
Chest big time especiall upper,

I started regular lower bod work in the past 3 weeks
what im seeing developed since im working my lower body now regularly is my squat strengh, my gain especially in the past 6 days is ridiculous


I went from struggly with 185 6 days ago 5x5 to squating out 275 for the same sets today!. that's 90 pound increase in squats in 6 days. I'm pretty sure this is genetic, my brother came in second in the nationals he squated 500 3 times him being 16 and a meso and only 5'11 190 pounds.

should be fun to see where the increases stop in my legs and see where my weaknesses are there
 
The shits. A skinny ectomorph who will get a gut if he doesn't watch it.

Strong points: Traps, Back, Chest (weak but it grows), Calves, Hamstrings

Weak Points: FOREARMS, everything else.

I'll give myself credit for one thing though, I have very small wrists and bone structure, and large muscles on a small structure will look very impressive. (just a few more cycles!)
 
I have above average, but didn't notice it until I started working out when I was 19, before I stated working out I had 30 inch waist and 15 inch bi's, I gainned 30lbs my first year naturally. My legs grow insanely rapidly, my calves are a great size, my chest has a good size, my abs and tricepts look great, my only downfall is rear delt and not enough tickness in back.

Sorry but you are very incorrect, in Arnold`s encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding (revised edition) page 168 Arnold states....

"In bodybuliding terms, Flex (Wheeler), Frank Zane, and I would be characterized as having Apollonian physiques (muscular, but tending toward the ectomorphic, more aesthetic than brute powerful), while thicker bodybuilders like Dorian, Nasser El Sonbaty, Tom Platz, Casey Viator, and Mike Mentzer would be classified as Herculean."

He has stated that somewhere else also, but I can`t recall from where.
 
I think myself lucky cos I have always been naturally strong with a good physique with the only weakness being my arms but they came on a shitload with my first cycle which was a low dose short cycle of Primo and Winny!

Same here, it is quite depressing
I have gained a mere 20 lbs since i started lifting, dieting, supplementing 3 years ago

So my genetics suck... time for some AS:D
 
I voted that my genetics are

above average,

I am happy with all aspects of my training results except my abs and waist.

One point I am 51 years old and did not really start lifting until I was 46 and did my first cycle when I was 49, If I had trained like this when I was in my early 30’s or 20’s I know I would be in excellent shape.
 
i have an endo- mesomorphic type physique. leaning more towards the meso though. im satisfied with my physique and i definately get noticed in a positive way.
 
I'm split on mine. During my teenage years i was definately a hard gainer, but after 5 years of training it seems to be coming a little easier now. My frame has definately widdened a bit. ;)
 
i can't tell if i have good genetics... i have been training for 1 year. A year ago i weighed in at 230 5'10 29% bf 18 years old. i went down to 170 at 13 %bf now i am 190 at 16%bf..

44 inch chest
16 inch arms
12 3/4 forearms
32 inch waist
25 in thighs
16 inch claves

all un flexed
 
I think i have pretty good genes for an asian guy. I'm pretty cut up and have good size. Legs could use a little work, but thats what the juice is for next month.
