some times my mind go's off on other things instead of staying "in the zone" ....just wondering what you guys think about and/or do in between sets

thanks

if my training partner is there....... we usually talk about stupid crap from arnold to dragon ball z.

if my fiancee is there we talk about sex.

which is why i love training by myself........ i think about lifting..... i pose....... flex....... and keep my mind focused.

If it's a calf lift, I usually just collapse into a mound and focus on breathing.

Deadlifts, rows, and squats, I walk around in circles for a minute or two. It huuuuuurts...

Anything else I just usually stretch and reflect on life.

No need to waste energy staying 'zoned' while I'm resting, there's plenty of time for that after I'm going again.

thats great to be able to do that.,....... you have found what works for you....... and thats what is really important....... it doesnt appear that you loose any focus either.......... i do it my way for the same reason....... the flexing the posing and gathering of energy are neccesary for me........ i dont do it for show....... im not phoney like that.......

so in a sense you "stay in the zone" by getting out of it...... interesting....

bump for other people techniques.

The weights pressing against me are enough to get me going - that's all I need. It's always in the back of my mind that I want to be stronger and look better, and this is what it takes to do that.

How I can improve my form, or what's invariably pissing me off in life - what I'm usually thinking about when I'm resting at the gym - is all it takes for me to stay focused. None of this frilly "pow-wow at the gym" stuff. :)

I superset so there's not much time between sets, just enough to catch my breath
