I am going to get a new car, I am going to trade in the porsche carrera for a new car. Because of the us dollar is doing so bad I can get a good buck for my canadain dollar. The choices are; Ferrari F355 spyder, F360 or viper GTS 2000. Which one would you pick?Also colour.

what (if anything) do you have against the pacific rim? for that kind of bucks, i need 100% reliability and perfect quality control....which means lexus or infiniti.
 
I do engineering and I do agree about reliability goes to them. But these cars are more for a nice sunny day...1 or 2 a week. It goes with everything, you pay for name and the prestige.
 
NSX, a friend of mine had one it haddles amazing its just under powered I know they are planning to come out with a new one soon. They are Nice, but its not for me. I am looking into something different. I have had my share of italian cars and bikes. They ask for a lot of attention, but when they work they are the best.
 
go with the 360, its an awesome and beautiful car. personally i would get a viper gts , blue with the white stripes, those look awesome. but something about farrari's, they just sound exotic
 
The 360 is nice, but I also like the 355. When they make a car it like art, back then it was sexy know its sexy but matured just a bit. I hate this, I was thinking to go with red just because later it would be easier to sell.
 
i've also had a couple of italian cars.....great on a sunny day when the damn thing would start and run good.

italian (and british) cars are more of an adult toy than reliable transportation....but i understand that this is not an issue for you.

i guess i've reached the point of life to where i buy cars to impress me, not to impress others.

go w/ lamborgini murcielago for half the price.
 
If you want a high powered car, but shitty quality and drive, pick the Viper.
If you want a decently high powered car with great quality, but screams "moron with no taste in cars and too much money", get the 360.
If you want an amazing car with class, taste, and quality, get the 355.
 
Lots of power but low quality: Viper

Something Different: Ford GT40

Power, style and overpriced (yeah resell and blablabla but still not worth IMHO it's tag price): Ferrari

Expensive, lots of power and still being able to use it as your primary car: CL65 or SL65 AMG
 
The NSX is sooo underpowered. It was a cool thing back in the early 90's cause of the aluminium block but that's old news.

I don't care what other people think either but just because someone buys a expensive car you automatically assume that its to impress others. That is not the issue for me, its basically I love my country ( Originated ITALY). When Ferrari wins f1 it has to do with more then a trophy, it shows how people can get together even if they don't know each other and feel good that something that they both believe in came on top. My farther would never care about a car but when a Ferrari was near he would take me with him so we can both look at ......to me I have loved cars since I was born cars are art to me.....when I see a car that has perfection in its design its like art similar to Michael Angelo work regardless of the century its still considered beautiful.... Also Ferrari has history, when you buy a Nissan or Honda car there is no history like that for those cars. Ferrari have won so many 24 hour lemans, F1's etc plus there champion racers there is so much history. When I see someone driving a Ferrari I see them supporting a team.... Honda, Nissan, etc there cars are assembled in a plant somewhere in Japan by Brazilians that work in the plant. The car is almost 85% made by machines....the welds are all functional but no art also there are 1000's of those cars. When I see a Ferrari it brings back memories of when I would watch f1 with my farther and uncle how they would fall asleep half way threw and wake up the final laps threw the race:) You would see a smile on them.... it goes with everything, you can go buy wrangler jeans at zellars and be just as happy as the guy going into a boutique to buy Dolce. Its basically personal preference. If you are not personally satisfied with yourself, a car or other peoples opinions of what they think of you will not change that.

I drove a f355 that a friend of friend has in Miami, what a great car it is yellow, I was more interested in getting red. A little flashy this yellow, but I gave him a offer he said he will think about and get back to me in a couple days. In my head I know I what red thou, also I know how I get if its not what I want exactly I start having doubts....but if the deal is good those thoughts dont last to long :)
 
The 355 just screams timeless elegance. Classic ferrari lines with a perfect amount of modern touches. The 360 looks more like a porsche, and just too spaceship for my taste. And the viper, while a pretty cool lookin car, looks like a hot wheels toy sitting next to the other two, lol.

my vote was 355, all the way. :roadster:
 
Lambo has no history, they once did but know they are just a show just like augusta or benalli, compared to ducati or Ferrari. Lambo doesnt race or are in any racing leagues. I am going to tell the story about how lambo was created, If you know this then dont read anymore on how lambo was started.

Lamborghini was created in the late 50's early 60's anyway what happened was Mr Lamborghini owned a company that built tractors( Thats so funny, one of the worlds slowest vehicles to the fastest) he went and bought a ferrari off of enzo ferrari....so when mrs lambo took the car he was not that all impressed so he went back to enzo and told him his thoughts. Anyway mrs ferrari was furious of what mr lambo said, so mrs Ferrari told him "forse non meritate un ferrari"(maybe you dont deserve a ferrari) so he took the keys from him and said vaffunculo( fuck OFf) Anway Mrs lambo was so pissed off that he ended making his owns cars, so thats how it started.

You're not getting one for under 190K (with miles) yet, any of those other cars can be bought for well under 160k. The Viper can be bought for under 50K, in fact, hit me up Stallion.....I've got a 01' yellow/black GTS for $48,900. ;)
 
not like i've been in the market for one... i read in a car mag that 150 k was the sticker on one of the models... it also came in an "-r" version that was like 100k more...
 
Its about market value, if its low miles and clean no accidents, sounds like a good deal. But I have sent my head on this f 355, the guy I am going to buy it from were playing a game of tennis. So I served him with another offer I will see how he responds with it. The good thing about the car I know the whole history about this car...

JUst picked up the f355, I put some winter wax from performance car products. It is the best wax, anyway waxed it lifted it on stands, put a stabilizer in it put a block heater on it threw the car cover and I will look at it around may. Oh well, at least it has some company with the other toys. Thanks for all the replies by the way.

360 all the way. NSX is a great car and only close to the Viper in terms of overall package..I have owned both....Ferrari's sound is enough for me!! nothing like it...

Highly underated IMO. Vettes are like assholes......everyone has one. ;)

However, I too can not wait for the 06' Z06. :)

I have to agree 100% with this. Everywhere you turn there is a corvette. Corvettes are nice, don't get me wrong, they have power, but they are just a sports car that an old rich person with too much money and little knowledge of cars, usually. As far as picking out of those 3. Its hard because i couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a car that i didn't get to build or customize some. I would rather put that money into a custom built muscle car. But i love the 360 Berlinetta's. but as far as power to money ratio you definately get more power for your money with the viper. I mean the new Viper has 500hp/$85,000 and the Ferrari's are about 380-400avg.(depending on which one you get, could be more.) and you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. But of course there is the quality of interior and details that you wouldn't get with a Viper. Its all a matter of what your looking for. O and i keep waiting for my Aston Martin Vanquish just to appear in my drive one day. :)
 
everyone has one maybe from where your from. im in alberta and i rarely see them which i love. my buddy has a viper i went for a ride in it. it handles like shit. hes got the ACR edition also. ive got 513rwhp and 465rwtq which blew his viper away. and i still paid as much as he did for his viper doing all the mods to my vette and i can smoke him. but its just my opinion. i am a chevy man and i like the way vettes look. i dont care if everyone has one. i bought it because there my favorite vehicle besides the 360 spyder. i will be getting one after the C6 Z06.

The ACR does ride like shit, but the the new SRT10 does not, handles better as well, and for $72k (price of the car new) and $3500.00 it will put 600hp@ the rear wheels, and it's a shitload of fun to drive. :)
 
well i just got the benz s55 amg love it , if those are your top 3 picks go with the new vipre best bang for the buck
 
Im going to buy a ram srt 10 black im going to put black rims and also a performance package that is 22 k and nos it's goin to be fast...

Viper is just a tractor with a huge engine, they forgot about the car part. Check out Jeremy Clarkson´s comments on american sports cars, he he, its art not just build huge.
If money´s not an issue go for KOENIGSEGG, and dont be typically italian.

Actually I like the McClaren Mercedes SLR and the Murcielago better than anything Ferrari has put out for awhile.

As for the Viper being a tractor with a huge motor......I prefer the analogy, a grownups go-cart. The way I rat out cars (tearing out rear ends etc...) I can buy 8 Vipers before I would touch a Ferrari of any consequence. I've got a Gallardo now, and I'm having a lot of fun with that. :)
 
Sta11ion, I think with you made a wonderful decision on that car. I mean you are Italian too, there's heritage involved here. Anyway, I loved reading about your passion for the best racing on the face of the planet, F1 and the Lemans type racing. I have been a Ferrari Race Team fan ever since I was a young boy. Michael Schumacher is one of my all time heroes. So, how is that F355 working out for you? Maybe you can let us in on the year and color you have chosen. And also what do you think about Ferrari's 12c Front Engines like the Maranello? My father has owned one since the late 90's and let me tell you something after driving that. I wouldn't own another sports car. Nothing finer...

I just did some prototype tooling at the DCX Tech Center in Auburn Hills MI. I wandered out to the test track one day...(only a half hour walk) and you are gonna SHIT when you see what's on the horizon bro.

I may also add, that the DCX Tech Center is home to the the most BEAUTIFUL and SWEET smelling, dress wearing, nice leg flaunting, sexy walking, intelligent women in the state of MI. Hands down. Ford HQ coming in second...but they are kind of bitchy.

I know this thread is old, but I work in the automotive field..couldn't help myself.

I like Ford Pickups myself.

With the new Z06 going to the 427 w/500 horses, I know DC will do something cool. What can you reveal ?
 
Personally, and being a part of the FCA, I would have to say the Ferrari 360 (the Modena). Sheer class and style. It actually suprises me that you put two Ferraris and a Dodge in the same post. They are a different class of car IMO.

As for the NSX, I cannot think of a better sports car for the buck. I would say the Viper, the Vette, and the NSX would all be approximately in the same class of car. I had the opportunity to drive an NSX for 3 weeks (was actually a friend of mines from Toronto) and it was fantastic. Underpowered compared to a Ferrari? Sure. But it's fun as hell to drive...and in the end, that's really what matters unless you plan on being at the track 1/2 the time.

My $0.02.

none of what u have in the poll. if u want overall best car out (not shitting u at all) go with the 06 corvette Z06, it will kill all of the cars plus just most any other car u can think of in handling, styling, and power

Id take the 1983 dodge omni.... Power nothing and a heater that doesent work...... Oh almost forgot id put spinners on it!!!!! The ones you get from kragen for 20 buck for the set of four
 
For the sake of the Poll, F360. For the sake of what would I really take? Best bang for buck I'd take the Ariel Atom. Now, if I had some more Benjamins to work with I'd take the Lamborghini MurcLP670-4 SV, or My Dream car The McLaren F1 LM
 
I'll take the Persu hybrid but doubt it'll ever get into production.. I can't post links yet, so you'll need to search for it on Google.
