Weight gain

zeosim

New member
5'9
155 pounds (starting weight 135)
Bf: not sure but pretty lean 12-10%
working out for about 2.5 years faithfully ( ectomorph)

My question is how much weight should I be increasing in a given period. For example every three months?
I know this is seems like a stupid question being I'm sure the answer is eat more, but my weight seems to fluctuate so much. I went from 166 down to 150 and back to 155 and it will stay within 4 pounds either way on a day to day basis. I've been stuck at this weight for a while and looking for any advise. My eating patterns don't change to much as I eat the same meals everyday, maybe minus one.
Thanks

Depends on the person and the diet. My cousin doesn't eat anywhere near as much as me and he gains very easy and a lot quicker then me. Post ur diet up here so everyone can see what your eating might be able to point you in a better direction of foods to eat to help you gain

Posted a pic so you guys can see where I'm at
A typical day of eating for me goes like this keep in mind I work permanent nights:
Breakfast 3:00pm- bowl of oatmeal with cut up bananas and strawberries( or whatever fruit I have around)

Supper- this is my whatever meal so usually a roast or ribs or pork chops or chicken with 1 cup of brown rice or sweet potato. Sometimes it's a carb meal like lasagna or spaghetti.

Snack- 4 eggs some toast and some fruit

Night meals at work

1st- greek yogurt with strawberries, grapes, and any other fruit I have, a can of tuna and 1 chicken breast

2nd- I've been usually eating a salmon filet with either brown rice with vegetable medley or sweet potato,( sometimes I may bring leftovers from supper) with spinach salad with carrots, peppers, broccoli, tomato

3rd- oatmeal with strawberries and banana

This is my usual day I sometimes snack on say apples or kashi bars in between. I have cut out all beverages except water and anything with high sugar (usually under 6g but maybe the odd splurge) I'm not on any supplements right now just eating so maybe that would help.
Thanks

Well i say this alot on here the most important thing is to know you bmr. Alot of guys in here just answer with oh eat 3000 cals a day and u will bulk. Not true. If i ate that amount of cals i would barely gain anything or even lose weight. My static bmr is 2575 and for my activity level which is extremly high its 4336. So if i ate 3000 cals a day i would lose weight. So you really need to know your bmr. Cuz even tho u might think u r eating a ton you might not be for your particular system. Basic rule of thumb is figure your bmr for your activity level and then add atleast 1500 cal to that. But you still need to eat clean food with lots of protein and healthy amount of carbs/fats.
