Way to go US military!

Fuck ya it does. That's fairly recent obscure news of course because they're trying to use aspartame in everything including milk now. Aspartame is also addictive. Aspartame isn't supposed to mess with insulin, but someone it's proven to cause insulin release when it touches your mouth literally. This is why diet sodas make people fatter and completely addicted to diet nonsense

i think red40 also causes cancer. i wish they wouldn't use food dyes in food at all. is it really necessary for our food to be a certain color for people to eat it? seems silly to me

Yeh that's dumb, I don't need my cheese to be yellow... I need it fully nutritious and not made of bullshit.

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
As most sport drinks contain some form of non-nutritive sweetener (e.g. aspartame), and with the variation in blood glucose regulation and insulin secretion reportedly associated with aspartame, a further understanding of the effects on insulin and blood glucose regulation during exercise is warranted. Therefore, the aim of this preliminary study was to profile the insulin and blood glucose responses in healthy individuals after aspartame and carbohydrate ingestion during rest and exercise.
FINDINGS:
Each participant completed four trials under the same conditions (45 min rest + 60 min self-paced intense exercise) differing only in their fluid intake: 1) carbohydrate (2% maltodextrin and 5% sucrose (C)); 2) 0.04% aspartame with 2% maltodextrin and 5% sucrose (CA)); 3) water (W); and 4) aspartame (0.04% aspartame with 2% maltodextrin (A)). Insulin levels dropped significantly for CA versus C alone (43%) between pre-exercise and 30 min, while W and A insulin levels did not differ between these time points.
CONCLUSIONS:
Aspartame with carbohydrate significantly lowered insulin levels during exercise versus carbohydrate alone.

It's talked about a lot on obscure news stations that the government and everyone else likes to ignore and call crazies. It's not something the FDA and govt. want us to realize. Same case with Monsanto. You won't see a single politician eating GMO or aspartame products I gaurantee you that.

^^^ food prices would jump if that happened. as long as people buy the cheaper things they see at the grocery store then thats how things will be. blame the consumers, not the govt. people spend money on extra's for their car or house but they won't spend an extra buck on organic or GMO free. people try and balance the PH of their aquarium or swimming pool so things are balanced but will eat and drink overly acidic things. i never understood how some people don't go to the dentist either to take care of their teeth but will spend money on their rims for their car.

There are numerous amounts of fitness exercises that you can do to improve your fitness level. Depending on what you want to achieve, you can go to do simple exercises you can do already and do not need any special equipment to join a gym and use more specialized equipment.
Physical Fitness And Exercise
Once you have taken the time to determine your goals of health and fitness, the best way to decide what fitness exercises you want to do is follow the five components of fitness (cardiovascular, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and composition body).
Physical Fitness And Exercise
Here is a look at some exercises you can do for each component.
Physical Fitness And Exercise
1.) For cardiovascular health, the best exercises are aerobic exercises. In other words, an exercise that is of low intensity, but requires a large amount of oxygen for an extended period. In general, aerobic activity should last at least 20 minutes. Of course, there are many recreational activities that are enjoyable and aerobic in nature. Some examples are: running, swimming, cycling, skating, dancing and walking speed. Apart from these activities, one of the easiest ways to get a good aerobic workout is to get an aerobic workout video. A simple Internet search should provide more than enough options.
Physical Fitness And Exercise
For artists and athletes, it may be necessary to separate the next two components of fitness. But for ordinary people, it is probably not necessary, but of course, you can work on each component separately if desired.
Physical Fitness And Exercise
Two.) Muscular endurance exercises are the opposite of cardio (aerobic). From muscle endurance exercises are anaerobic, which means they have a high intensity for a short period of time so you do not require a lot of oxygen. Some examples of exercises to help you improve your muscular endurance are pushups, sit-ups, push-ups, sprints, circuit strength training high repetition

I guess I agree, only I believe GMO foods shouldn't exist in the first place. That's the govt. fault if you ask me. Passing the Monsanto act just made it so we can't tell GMO from real food.

GMO food is in existence because food products are created for more thne just eating. Corn is used for fuel for example. Wheat and soy beans are modified to be herbicide resistance and tested for safety. These aren't intended to be in the food supply

Almost everything has a GMO version now. There's more to it than that I believe. Nonetheless they are in the food supply.

Cali had a proposition to label foods but it was defeated by a small margin. i do believe however that once the ball gets rolling on this it will be a domino effect across the country. however like i said above many people just don't care. they will see 2 things on the shelf.. organic vs. GMO/pesticide and will pick the cheaper thing.. i have the image in my head of the mom with 3 kids who can barely afford her groceries and will buy the $8 fried chicken meal already cooked over the $15 organic chicken she would have to bring home and cook. it all boils down to laziness. most people currently DO NOT buy organic produce. thats why the organic sections in the supermarket are tiny obviously.

the government spends lots of money on ads telling people to not smoke. they ban it all over the place. they tell you not to smoke in the car.. hell the surgeon general tells you right on the package that smoking KILLS!! yet 22% or whatever of the US population still smokes!! ugh. i don't know what the government can do to change peoples lifestyles man. its up to the individual. i went fishing yesterday on a pier/bridge and some trash were smoking near me and i came home with a splitting headache. i can't stand it. the thing is and its hard to understand for people like us who want to look good and feel good is a lot of people just don't give a shit about their health or are just ignorant. hell i had an arguement with some old kook who claimed smoking wasn't bad for you cause his father lived till 90 and he smokes at 60 and is still alive.

It seems to be a complicated topic.

I agree, and l believe we all need to stick to the basics of whole food first before considering other options. there is a lesson to be learnt because products always seem to contain something harmful to the body like dyes, etc. my point is that we shouldn't always fall for the marketing before we know what we're getting ourselves into

soon we'll be eating Soylent Green

Ban GMO foods. Period. Ban aspartame. Ban ban all chemicals that have been proven to cause damage to the body. People have to quit smoking on their own no doubt, but what if all GMO and aspartame had a giant label saying "GMO cause infertility in third generation wistor rats" " or aspartame cause diabetes" ... Or if the governement labeled public water supply as "Contains neurotoxins, and pesticides as well as other chemicals that cause cancer and cavities" individuals don't know about these things and can't really do anything about it if they don't know the food they eat contains this stuff. Like I said Monsanto makes it LEGAL to NOT label GMO foods. Whole foods fought this for a while because they don't want to false advertise as "non-GMO" when they'll in truth have no clue what it is. THIS is a problem I blame directly on the government. Unfortunately whole foods lost the fight and Monsanto is now law that says basically that nobody has to label bad shit as " bad shit"

^^^ you are still missing my point bro.

california had a proposition to label GMO foods. it failed. that was voted on by the voters in the last election. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_37_(2012) if it didn't pass in a liberal state like california how can you expect it to pass in middle america states and the south? not gonna happen.

46M was spent to defeat that bill. 8M of which came from Monsanto lol. lets all face the facts. we live in a capitalist country where money talks and money walks. Monsanto employs 22K people and is a 55B company. they aren't gonna get run over that easily. expect this problem to get worse. obesity will keep going up. ADHD will keep rising.. more cancer, and more health problems. this is the way it has to be because it is all about the green. the medical community needs people to become more sick to make their money too.

its awesome that you are passionate about this.. i've talked against GMO for almost the past decade and have written articles on it that have been published as well. however I am over it now bro. this is why i catch my own fish, and i grow my own food as much as possible. and otherwise i shop at co-ops and organic stores only. i can only protect myself, i'm done trying to preach to others who care more about saving a few bucks on inferior food.

here is my list of shit that needs to be banned from our foods.. however because we are a farm nation that makes way too much food vs. what we can export it ain't gonna happen

1. soybean oil
2. hydrogenated/fractionated oil
3. high fructose corn syrup

considering those things come from soy, corn, and veggies that farmers in the US produce by the billions if you were to ban those then farmers would go hungry and 12 farming states would lose billions in revenues.

it makes sense for a country like luxemburg to ban those things but the US is a farming nation and its just not economically possible to do it without screwing a lot of people and creating an economic domino affect. it would be like banning computers or the internet. it would crash the economy

I see your point. But GMO shouldn't exist. And civilians aren't creating them. That's all I mean. The govt. KNOWS they are harmful yet it's still not only an option, but soon to be the only one for all we know. I'm not really arguing, I think we just may have different beliefs about who really controls thigs in this country. I don't believe voting makes any difference unless its an issue that isn't important to the richest 1% / government.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. I'm not saying we can just stop GMO altogether, but it should start being phased out, while we attempt to increase the amount of REAL natural seeds. Just like we need to get off of oil, but we can't do that right away. The whole country depends on it. I do not believe those in control are thinking about What's best for us. It's money among other things. I know you're not a fan of milk, and even some milk is getting aspartame put in it now. No reason other than wanting to create illness or addiction to milk.

^^^ just imagine there was a time where companies didn't have to list ingredients. i believe it was Ralph Nader who worked to change that. a shame that people don't take the time to read the ingredients.

i think its awesome you are passionate about this stuff for a guy your age. keep it up bro. i see you writing and publishing a lot of things in the future in fitness mags and such down the line

hopefully one day we won't have GMO, corn syrup and all that other crap in our foods. maybe another 50-70 years. once the consumers stop buying that shit and stores realize they are losing money selling it and start pulling it off their shelves we will see a steady trend away from it and it will go away. same thing with smoking, i think you will see less than 5% smokers in another 50 years.

Lol thanks man I have a bit of a debating gene in me, as I enjoy trying to make people see my way... Not always a pleasant itch ha. I Use to write a little bit for a small online magazine. I'm 29 btw. If I could write full time about fitness and nutrition I'd die happy lol.

Yeah I really didn't until 25-26 but I get more obsessed/paranoid about things as time goes on. I can hardly think about anything else anymore Lol. Every time I drink tap water I'm afraid my brain is turning to mush.

Great read guys... One question , what you mean when saying drinking tap water turns brain to mush??

he was being facetious. tap water contains metals, pesticide, flouride, chlorine etc etc. you can actually analyze your tap water very easily or just call up your water company and ask them.

this is why i said i invested in an ionizer. it is a filtration system that will take tap water and turn it into mineral water through ionization. you will save a fortune on water like this.

I recommend Fiji water if you cannot get an ionizer. dasani and aquafina are just bottled tap water.

i have become a pro at testing bottled water and knowing if it is BS or not. its very easy to tell cause i have been drinking ionized water for so many years. you can also buy PH strips and test your water. if the PH is under 6 then it contains chlorine cause chlorine is acidic. Fiji water will come up a 7 when tested, meaning it contains no chlorine.. it is actual spring water.

Alright , thanks Steve... What I hVe been doing since I got on cycle was carry a big pro shake blender bottle with filtered water that comes Fromm fridge... I throw ice in there that is also filtered and comes from the fridge and it stays cold forever with tons of ice! Switched to this once I found out about how plastic melts into the water on bottles....
Before this all I drank was bottle after bottle of warm Poland Spring... SMH haha

the plastic water thing scares the shit out of me. i always make sure to constantly change them if i use them.

your fridge filter is okay but it still doesn't filter out a lot of stuff. i would look into an ionizer .. they cost a few hundred bucks but you will save money long term

Will do Steve... I feel as I am similar to you In the aspect we bothwould rather spend a few extra bucks to make sure we have quality things that we are ingesting in our body...

you will be able to tell if the water is legit with PH strips and also the taste will be much different than straight out of the tap

I second that. I bought an $80 water pitcher from clearly filtered for my kids and I'm going to get one for myself soon. You are what you eat… Or drink
