wanted to say hello...

I thought I would introduce myself, because I'm such a newbie. I would post this on the "bump" introduction thing, but I don't think anybody reads those.

I'm a college student, Not a bb, just a health nut. I studied abroad this summer, backpacked all over the u.k. and (not regrettably) gained about 20 pounds of Guinness. Upon return, I hit the gym and the eca wayyy too hard and lost a lot of weight, all the way down to 119, where I was when I first came on here. I am currently battling insomnia (and winning, thanks to a lucky score of some great weed) as well as putting on a few pounds (last check, 121). I WAS eating about 900-1000 cals a day, until I read some of the very good advice here, and upped it to about 1200. Now I'm feeling much stronger in my workouts.

I want to get up to about 130-135 lbs (oh, I'm 5'3" btw). I swim quite a bit, and have my whole life, so I'm not looking for a super low bf %. In fact, I don't even know what mine is right now, nor do I particularly care. I am a bit paranoid about my health, as my parents have been overweight most of my life, and between the two of them have heart problems, diabetes, osteoperosis, joint problems, etc., etc. This is probably why I have a hard time eating a whole lot, though I really have no desire to be very skinny.

I'm a ovo-lacto vegetarian, I dig yoga, um...I don't know what else. KBgrl laughs at my cherry pie cravings, and I don't post too much stuff because I can usually find it by a search. Much good chi to all...

k:)

Hey Girl! Welcome to the boards! If apple pie is the worst of your cravings, then you are off to a good start! I guess you could say I'm an ova - beefo - fish - yardbirdo - vegan -- ok sorry - bad joke. Mostly I just avoid dairy because of unstated lactose intolerance. (not blatantly, but it takes its toll). It must've been fun cruising the UK -- I did a tour back when Chuck & Di got married (KB -- NO COMMENT on my age.................!)

Sounds like you are off to a good start! All I can say is thank God I never developed a taste for Guinness. Bass Ale (hand pumped, straight glass only!) is my one beer-based vice. Beer just goes down too easy!

Wanted to say hi and wish you luck w/ your goals! Any questions - post 'em -- good stuff here!

What is it they say about Guiness...There's a sandwich in every glass? I'd be thinner too, if they outlawed that dangerous, delicious drug...

Good luck on building up on the ovo-lacto diet. I couldn't do it, but there are other vegs here who have. Steelweaver comes to mind...

hehe...how do you know what I mean by "weed". Maybe I just like gardening...

I never really thought about that spatterson...good point. Though, I must say, I have since staved my craving by buyint some Wild Oats, all wheat, all natural, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Only one serving at a time, but of course. How many times though...

I can't bake for shit.

Die Sugar!
