Getting some suits made. While chatting with the tailor, he mentioned an interesting factoid: A fit man should have a waist no more than 2" larger than his inseam measurement and preferably the same.

So... if you have a 32" inseam, you should have a 32" waist.

Ok.

How do we measure up as a group?

How many inches more/less is your waist than your inseam?

Dude, dude, dude.

When you buy jeans you get to choose the waist and the leg length. The inseam would be leg length.

Ok, ok, ok.

You could have just said the length of your pants bor.

Ok, my waistline is 27" and inseam 31.5"

So, I guess -4.5

Im a 36 -32 dress pants and a 36-30 in jeans..

34 waist will fit but they aren't comfortable and I want comfort at my age

I got short legs for someone 5' - 11"

I just got back into 34 land but barely.

Aiming for 34 being 'generous'.

Right now I am about a 30" - 31" waist depending on the pants...

I am always a 33" inseam..

When I am on my game - I am a 29" waist....

Damn 29" waist on a guy is TINY.

Especially if you got thick quads. How tall are you?

It's down there... just a genetically small waist when i am lean... has NOTHING to do with quad size...

32" waist pants off the shelf may be tight in the quads.... some people get larger waist size pants and then have the waist taken in by a tailor...

One guy that was on here a couple years back that competed was about 230 and had a 29" waist... I am not anywhere near that big... but when i get lean... my waist is small.

I am a hair under 6 foot.

I know it doesnt have anythign to do with Quad size.. I just meant that having big thick quads on a 29" waist really exxagerates the effect.. and looks really good.

I was just curious how big your quads are when your waist is down to 29.

Not sure... never have measured... nothing impressive... that's 4-sure...

I used to wear 38/30's for my quads....now I wear them for my big ass. The odd thing I still have a faint outline of abs in the mirror.

36-32 so i can my ass and quads in there
tailors hate me, its hard buying off the rack suits, and i'm not even a big guy

LOL!

I'm 33-34 waist, 30 inseam in jeans.

I'm also the same bud, my friends tell me that I have a ghetto bootie, and I'm Italian and hispanic. My upper quads only seem to exaggerate the effect.

I got the short leg/short arm gene too, 30" inseam @ 5'10".

I'm at that awkward phase where I can't breathe in 36" waist, and can't keep 38" pulled up.

My college roommate's dad was 6'0" tall and had a 30" inseam.

36 or 38 just to fit my freaking legs in the pants... let's talk shirts LOL.... try having a 20 inch neck.

34/34 a bitch to find pants though

my waist is a 32, but it takes a 34 for me to be comfortable.....

errrr... none of my pants have an inseam measurement...looks like the aussies just use S for short, R for regular, and L for long...lol

Yeah, "S" means "Daisy Dukes/Steve Irwin," "R" is mid-thigh, and "L" is almost to the knees?

THis is simply not true. A very short man may have an inseam of 28 inches, but a waist of 33, 34 and still be very fit. A general guideline at best.
