Well, we all know that it would be difficult to workout four hours a day. Now say i wanted to get stronger, much stronger and fast in say the bench press. Wouldn't the best way be to do as much bench as i can. Theoretically, say i had a bench down in my basement and every hour of the day i would go down and do my current max for 3 sets of 1. By the end of the day depending on how long i am at home i would have done anywhere from 18 to 50 sets of my max. From here i would progress with the strengthening of my CNS and move to sets of 2 , than 3 , than 4, and than start at a new max all over or switch bench exercises. Would this work, i really need to raise my bench by August and i figure the more i do the better my bench will be.

The late great Paul Anderson used to go out on his property and hit a golf ball back and forth between a bench and squat rack. He would hit the ball to the bench and when he walked to it, he would commence to press the loaded bar which, if I remember right, was loaded to four or five hundred. He would then hit the ball towards the squat rack. There he would squat eight hundred. He would make several trips back and forth doing as many reps as he could. Keep in mind this was sans equipment. This worked for him but he was just a freak of nature. Of course he didn't do this every day. I'm sure it would work to a point but keep in mind that overtraining occurs in about three weeks after maintaining max weights for the same movement. Where is your bench now and how much of an increase do you want by August?

you could always try the blast your bench program i tried.. i strayed from it alot and still made a 15 lb gain.. now im kickin myself for not sticking exactly too it.

I forgot to ask in my last post but are you using a bench shirt or lifting raw. If you're benching 260 raw, a 300 or 315 is possible with a shirt. If your wanting a 40 pound increase on top of your current shirt max, you have your work cut out for you. What type of training do you use?

I've never met anyone who trained WSB to the T and not gained from it.

Can you give us more of your stats? As much info as you can give would be great...

Westside didn't what??????????????????

Definitely get a shirt!!!!

Just out of curiosity, why didn't it work for you?

Finding why it didn't work or work as well as expected is what makes WSB....WSB. It must be modified to fit you...yet followed to a T.
