Ventipulmin 0.03mg/ml

yes, I know! I was being sarcastic! That was my answer to drinking the stuff! lol. I'm still alive and kicking! Very well actually. I have lost 3kg and 2% bodyfat. Not bad for a week? Diet is tops and I'm doing cardio and weights, exercise for about an hour daily, like I usually did, so nothing else changed, just that I started losing weight and fat, after 2 months of not losing anything! I just wanted 5% of my bf, so that only helped me. Just thought I'd let you know of my progress.

Have a nice weekend!!

You're not going to lose 2% of your BF in only a week. Fat loss takes a long time (and such time commitments are one of the reasons americans are so fat -- they want what they want now).

Thinking what you lose in one week is fat leads to disappointment when the weight, mostly water, rebounds. This is a form of short-term yo-yo dieting.

Think of it this way: weight (whether muscle, fat, or water) is pretty time-symmetric; that is, you can resonably plan for the time it took to gain the weight to hold for losing it as well. Hence water is the first to drop, then muscle, then fat. The reasons for this are biological: the body needs fat, and uses it as a storage mechanism for energy; on the opposite end, water is gained/lost very quickly; muscle is between the two.

If you set true fat loss goals to be short-term and yield quick results, you will invariably become disappointed.

Also, to maintain a new weight, whether higher (muscle) or lower (fat), you will need to continue the habits that established the new baseline. This includes diet, exercise, rest, supplementation and other variables such as metabolism and hormones. You will not be able to just get to a desired weight and stay there without conceeding to permanant changes.

The woman's board here is helpful and full of good people... you can talk over there and get advice targetted more towards your specific goals from those who are experienced in such matters.

Hmm, I know all that stuff you said. I've been on this diet for a long time now, and it was working until about 2 months ago. I guess that maybe the weight and bf% got down because I kept to this diet, maybe it just started to show again now? I don't know?? The trainer at the gym took the fat % so I was happy. And excited... (he doesn't know about the ventipulmin)Oh, and I'm no body builder, although I wouldn't mind if I can start looking like one, so Maybe, because my bf is still high, it can come down quicker, 'cause I have more to lose? (it was at 19% and it is at 17 now, according to him.)

The human body doesn't like to change, so don't take a temporary lapse as a sign of failure. Your body needs to adjust.

Depending on how your trainer takes your BF%, there can be a lot of variation and error. Take it with a grain of salt. You're the best judge of your body, not someone you're paying.

Do make strength training a part of your excercise regime. Don't buy the propaganda that you (as a female) will get all muscley or whatever they say. The more of your body composition is muscle, the more calories you will expend (even while sleeping!) and the easier it will be to maintain a lower BF.

Whether 19% or 17%, that's not high for a female; it's normal, or below-normal for an american. Keep in mind that if it gets too low -- something that affects anorexics and female competitors -- it can negatively impact your fertility. Just something to be aware of.

Talk to some of the females here. I don't know who's around any more, but maybe PM Nefertiti to see if she knows anyone that can give first-hand advice... it's often hard for males to relate, as their goals are completely opposite of yours.
