Using weights

Would you advise using weights to help increase range of motion and flexibility ? I really want to increase my flexibility as much as possible!
 
What are you doing now to improve those things?
 
Doesn't sound like a very safe thing to do.
Why not just start with doing some basic stretching?
I am not sure what your sport is but basic gym training isn't that demanding as far as flexibility goes.
