Ultrasound for increased recovery rate?

Brysonian

I've heard of some pro using ultrasound machines on recently worked muscles, to flush toxins and lactic acid, and increase recovery, does anybody know anything about this?

I know they use ultrasound on injuries at physio therapy in order to help speed up recovery, So I'd assume it must have some positive benefits.. if not, it feels really damn cool....

Ultrasound and stretching are standard practice in PT for torn muscles which result in calcified scar tissue. You stretch vigoursly to break up the deposit, then ultrasound helps in the disposal of the mineral residue. I have no idea whether ultrasound would be of any benefit to weight training induced muscle trauma. Might help somewhat for extreme soreness, but whose gym has a US unit anyways?
