Yeah maybe...Silva is like 37 years old and who does he have left at 185? Plus be nice to reitre having never lost your belt. I think this is his 12th title defense, which is mind boggling for MMA.

I'd like to see him go out on top.
It's just sad when a fighter keeps fighting past his prime like Chuck and Wanderlei (sp).
These guys have more heart then brains sometimes but i guess it takes that kind of heart to fight at those levels.
The sport is getting more and more competitive so if Silva got the W and then retired his record could stand for a long time.

Yeah, if Silva wins the only other fights I'd wanna see are Silva vs Pierre or Silva vs bones Jones. And neither would happen. Plus bones would rock him. But I hope he does retire, cuz he'd be the beat fighter in ufc history until bones Jones surpasses him haha

Have you seen the extended preview for this fight, when Chael is talking and leaning on the ropes...he looks seriously juiced. You dont think he has had his test completely jacked this whole time and just recently cut it?
The therapuetic use exemption is complete bullshit. In the end it wont help pillow hands.

And I agree with a few the guys here. If the GSP fight can`t happen or the Jon Jones fight then he might as well retire. He has nothing to prove to anyone at 185. If he goes up to light heavy the they have to set up a Jones fight. If not leave at the top!

Jones makes the most sense because Anderson can move up so easy. I just dont see GSP moving up, even then he is prety small.
Agree...Jones vs. Silva would be an epic fight at this point, the whole GSP vs. Silva has fizzled out. See if Anderson can claim two belts in two different divisions before he retires.

If John Jones called him out...which probably won't happen due to he is still a humble champion, not like Silva...who used to be...he would probably take the fight, but I agree with you, still it would solidify he being considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, there is some good new talent coming up the ranks, guys who are hungry...his time is coming to get his ass handed to him. He even commented one time about Jose Aldo, knowing Aldo is in a different weight class...Silva said if he had to fight Aldo he would retire...he may have been joking, but your right that he may not want to take a fight of that risk.

Im not a Jon Jones fan either...I would love to see the Silva Jones fight, I think it would be epic.Unfortunately I think the UFC might get political there...they see to bee ass kissing Jones, with the UFC sponsorship, etc. If he actually lost the fight it would do more damage to him than good by winning.
I am a fan of the best fighters should fight, period. No politics no bullshit. Thats what sucks about Mayweather vs Pacqiao...it should have hapened. Imgine Ali not fighting some of the guys he fought...or Hearns and Hagler.

Sonnen all the way, he was fatigued and made a rookie mistake the first fight, all he Had to do was keep the round going. Hes gut the title tonight. I think Silva is scared because none has ever man handled him the way sonnen did. And I think sonnen isn't really as blunt as he portrays himself, I think he's playing more of a 'role'with the trash talking, either way i'm a fan of sonnen, not Silva (hes still one of the best fighters to have ever walked this earth and will be I the hall of fame I bet

It was a disappointing fight to say the least...Sonnen in the 2nd round came out wild, missed with a spinning elbow and fell against the fence, while he was down Silva gave him a knee to the chest, Sonnen buckled, and Silva finished him and later invited Sonnen to a BBQ at his house lol. The only fight I truly see for Silva at this point is John Jones in light heavyweight...there isn't anybody in the middleweight division that can beat him...and IMO he isn't close to retirement, he is still finishing fights!

Round 2 sonnen came out aggressive but sloppy. The a spinning back fist, missed, fell and Silvana pounced and didn't let up for a good 90sec before ref called it

Yeah it seemed pretty much standard anderson... first round feel out and second round knockout.
That knee to the face was definitely questionable if it was a knee to the face but it is really hard to tell.
It looked like it could have been more of the shin to the body. Either way it's illegal to kick a downed opponent.

Sonen is one of the best and most underrated in the game...had he not literally tripped and Silva capitalized on it, I believe Sonen would have been victorious.

Dude are you serious? Sonnen DESTROYED Silva in the first round??? Come on man... Did you even watch the fight?
Sonnen literally did nothing to silva the entire time he was on top of him... Silva wasn't fazed at all . Silva did a lot better job at keeping Sonnen from doing what he wanted to do on the ground, than in their first fight.
Then second round Sonnen could not even take him down... Then pulled some dumb ass move which was a mistake and silva capitalized on his mistake with a beautifully placed (and perfectly legal) knee to the chest and destroyed his fucking face with punches.
Great Fight.
No one in middleweight division can beat Silva. Although I think Brian Stann would be a good opponent, but would likely lose.
Silva vs Jones will happen one day... Guarantee it. That would be the only way the UFC could top all the records they broke with this ppv.
In my opinion I think Jones would win... But it would be a close fight and could potentially go all 5 rounds to a decision.

Agreed. A heavy Silva would probably lose a light Jones. If he wait s till Silva retires he could easily take the middleweight belt, keep the light heavyweight and possibly take the heavyweight. But Jones still has 12 plus years for all that haha

The thing with a fight is you never know what can/will happen. The way Jones is fighting it looks like he is unstoppable...but they said the same shit about Machida, then Cain. Styles make fights and eventually Jones will come up against a style that throws his off.

Sonen controlled the pace and dictated where the fight went, he took him down at will....if you know anything about fighting, you would see that...I fought in the ring for 12 yrs and trained mma for a while...It's easy to see that Sonen was in control the whole time until he literally tripped

Factor in that he landed 320 shots the last fight, controlled position for 4 1/2 rounds and still lost, are you saying that because he took Silva down in the 1st he would have won? He inflicted ZERO damge from the top, had FULL mount for 1 full minute, and in the 2nd was unsuccessful in his takedown attempts. Yeah he tripped and it completely changed the fight..but he made the decisoin to try that spinning backfist. He did not slip on the canvas, he made a horrific decisoin. And anyone who has fought in the street, competitively, or whatever knows that anything can happen. One small mistake can change the fight completely, and it did.
Silva made the mistake of getting taken down in the 1st, he adjusted and recoverd. Sonnen made a mistake in the 2nd, did not recover and lost.

I disagree completely. That first round was a ploy on Silvas behalf. He is never the sloppy aggressor that he was perpetrating.
He isn't as meek as he seemed when sonnen beame the aggressor.. Complete ploy. Made sonnen look foolish with that missed haymaker and capitalized.
I'm sick and tired of everyone thinking Silva is untouchable...seriously. I believe completely and without a doubt that Sonen is a more complete fighter, but Silva had the advantage of experience...that's it...

Correcting myself here...duh! It is Jones vs. Hendo, and I am a huge Hendo fan, and the last fight against Shogun was fucking epic...and even better since I was there to see it live...first 5 round main event non-title fight, and it was a bad ass fight. So hard to choose, but Jones is on a different level and Hendo is one sided fighter, with the wicked overhead right that will put you out!

Yeah I was wondering about the Machida comment too...I would really love to see Hendo put him out, but like you said Jones has been on a different level. His length should be difficult for Hendo also since he has not done well against taller opponents. But again, its a fight and anything can happen. Hendo is like Couture in a way, and keeps surprising you as his fights go on.
