Looking at a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE loaded.. 94K miles at 7000$

2003 Toyota corolla LE..90K miles at 7000$

98 Grand Jeep Cherokee (automatic looks almost new) 80 K milles at 6000$

2003 Ford Escape (automatic) 65,000K miles at 8400$

Which one will last the longest without major problems (on average)

The Toyota...was that a trick question? I'm looking at similar price range vehicles right now...you look at any Civics at all?

No. Why the Toyota? Damn this is hard deciding... According to the blue book values, all seem to be a pretty good buy.. There's a couple of Civics for sale that I'm waiting to get a price on. I only want automatic.. My wife wants me to get the Nissan Maxima.. Does it last as long as a Corolla?

the toyota (or a honda as recommended above) will definitely cost you a lot less in repairs and maintenance compared to the ford and the jeep. . .hands down. . .if you want carefree daily driving, there really isn't a choice based upon the options you are currently considering. . .

This is why I hate buying used cars. Too many freaking miles. Holy shit! Admittedly I don't drive much, but my 01 Nissan Pathfinder has 27,000 miles on it. At this rate, it should last 75 years. lol

I'd go with the Nissan maxima.

Huh? The Maxima is an excellent car and the guy dropped 1000$ off the price because it's black and he's tired of washing it every day.. We out in the country. LOL

When a buying a car with 90,000+ miles on it, you'll want to go with cars that have proven to last 200,000+ miles with little cost besides maintenance....Toyota or Honda is basically the safest bet like digi said....

I've always heard the Corolla, Civic, and I think Maxima can easily go 200K with no problems. I've got a Mazda that has 165 K on it and still drives like a champ. I don't think you can say the same for most American made cars. Thanks !
