too much protien?

found this on another board. id like to hear more input from the bros here. the following is a piece from a nutrition text book

True, but your body still needs a lot of protein. After water, your body is mostly composed of protein, and it's obvious that protein is needed for pretty much everything. Yes, if you eat more protein than you need, your body will convert it into energy, which can be stored as fat if you don't need it. This is more likely to happen with fats and carbohydrates, which are stored more easily. Additionally, most people don't eat enough protein to actually worry about it storing as fat.
 
i weight 233 and was told to eat 1-1.5 grams of protein a day.. thats over 300 grams and its hard to eat that much.
 
a doctor i spoke to once claimed that 400 grams of protein daily is dangerous for kidneys and liver he said something about the particle size if i remember it right, he said it's directly harmfull if you don't drink loads of water regularely throughout the day

i don't trust em these days but i wouldn't go 500grams+

8am eggs 75 gram shake= 100grams

Lunch= Chix breast =40 grams

Pre work out 75gram shake

Post work out 75gram shake

Dinner steak 50 grams

Pre bed shake 75 grams
Protein total for the day =415
That is a pretty easy day of eating now add in real food inbetween these meals and you can easily hit 600 grams if you had 2!

People fail in bbing because they cant eat period!

Can the body absorb 75 grams of protein at once?, i was led to believe its around 40 grams.
 
depends on your body weight. If what you are saying is right someone who weighs a buck 65 can take in as much protein as myself weighing 255lbs can.

Look at the monster freaks out there! They are the ones taking in 600 grams and you never see them without food in there mouth that should tell you something.
 
Im on a cutter right now breaking 404g. of protein per day. It was hard for me to do that with food alone, so my diet is high in supplements. As for being dangerous, I have heard this as well and read literature relating to this fact. This is why i went to a nutritionist for guidance.
 
It take soooo much energy for your body to convert excess protein into fats that it's not worth it to the body unless it's the only thing the body has to make energy from. Usually exces protein is excreted through the urine and you can check to see if you have too much protein. They sell strip called keto strips that tell you how much protein is in your urine. This is a good way to tell. I was taking in 350 grams a day and weighed 170 pounds as was still within the normal limits.
 
I think your body size - bone structure muscle density determines how much protein a person can actually take in and use. I'm a small framed individual and I think 250 grams a day in protein is more than enough. I think if you get on one of those electronic weight scales (the high priced ones not the cheapo hand helds) and find out exactly what your lean body mass is then you eat 1 1/2 to 2 times that and it should be enough. I think taking in 600 grams for anyone is way too much and I have heard that it does stress your kidneys from a doc...
