To Juice Or Not to Juice....

How long have you been lifting. Hopefully you are not using the periodized program. Use the novice version. Order www.startingstrength.com. If your lifts are going up (and they should be going up rather quickly) you will be gaining a good amount of muscle if you eat. Just keep at it.

To be point though, you need to get over your complex. Every single person out there has some self conscious issue - those that seem not to, are either better at disguising it or you don't know them well enough yet. This is basically human nature. Trust me, if it wasn't concern about being small it would be something else. It's like a chick buying fake tits, she had this issue she was always worried about, boom one day it's artificially solved - unfortunately the person is still weak at the core. Something else will take it's place or she'll just weird out in other ways and disipate anxienty and energy there, maybe try to develop herself a whole new personality or some such. A strong house can't be build on a shaky foundation.

So anyway - take a deep breath and clear your mind. Shut it off for a moment and tell your babbling insecure mind to fuck off. Experience the world around you by simply preceiving - don't interpret or overlay your typical garbage on it, just be a consciousness in a human body. This is you. You are in charge and your decisions and interactions with the world define you. The body is the temporary vehicle in which you make your journey, it does not define you (you'll likely figure this out on your own with time but why not read the Cliffs Notes). You have maybe at best 60 years left to explore and enjoy. Whether that's in a muscular body or not - both will die and it will feed the worms.

Be very thankful you have a healthy body because it can be taken away from you in an instant. I have some good friends that are dead now, super healthy and athletic - the popular "big guys" that you probably envy. They found out they had an odd disease or some such and guess what - dead a few years later one in his mid 20's and one in his late 20's. Let me tell you, they changed their lives once they knew the clock was ticking. Unfortunately it seems the human condition to avoid thinking about dealth and realizing that there is no time despite the fact that no one has ever avoided it and no one has yet not wished they would have done things differently if they had only known or had a bit more time. Your enjoyment of your time and contribution while here are all that matter - whether you are big or small means nothing. Be thankful you aren't missing an arm or your legs, yet those people too are fullfilled and find meaning.

Point being, be thankful for what you have. Get out of your daily routine and concern and see what wonders and opportunities surround you in this world. There is so much more to life than being big or muscular - as a matter of fact the real pursuit is the enjoyment of lifting as that crap gets old pretty fast. Being popular or excessive worrying about what others think of you is equally wasteful. Start managing your mind and erradicating that petty crap because it's an obstacle and breaks you down. Do things that make you proud of yourself. Enjoy your family. See things and explore. Do not let petty moods overwhelm you - this is real strength and courage - it does not come in a bottle but is built from the ground up. This is the foundation for a strong house and this will serve you infinitely better than the 50lbs of muscle you think would fix everything now.

Anyway, do some reading. A lot of the Eastern lines of thought are more direct in mind management techniques, meditation, yoga or tai chi (moving meditation), Zen, Tibetan Buddhism. I've spent some time reading and studying here, quite worthwhile and it suits me. Obviously there is plenty in common with the Christian faith - there is no opposition in method or in goal just in talk (but people would rather fight wars and talk rather than put forth real effort hence the world we live in). Most important is to clear that crap out and take control. Don't waste one moment and when you catch yourself wasting it, pinch yourself and come back to the present and soak it in by concentrating the mind and shutting off the pointless internal chatter or moods.

Got to finish work and get to sleep. Hopefully there is something in there that catches your attention because the above is a lot more important than anything I can help you with in the gym.

Damn, that just gave me a good hard kick in the ass. Im holding on to this.

Cutthroat- I was the same way as you before. I started working out becuase i was so skinny. Just train and eat and i bet someone will notice you getting bigger before you do.

awesome post bro

You'll respect yourself much more if you train naturally and obtain your goals that way. It is probably much more rewarding in the end. Respect your body, and treat it right, and it will treat you right. Eat, sleep, and train, repeat.

don't juice. I did initially when I was about your size and it will give you nothing but problems. gain 40-50 pounds naturally, train at least 4 years, research for a few and then maybe think about juice.

madcows post pretty much summed up everything you needed to hear though.

Thanks alot for the help guys... Im not going to juice but it is hard being as small as I am. You all helped knock some sense back into me.To answer some of your questions...

Im 6'0 maybe a little taller...Dont know for sure

I probably need to adjust my sleeping habits...I go to bed late get up late (like 1:00am-9:00am)

My Diet... I work alot during the week and seems like always got something going on but my diet generally follows the outline below. I try and take in at least 3500 Cals a day and keep the sugar down. I consume roughly (at least) 150 grams of protien a day. I am at the gym at least 4 days a week.

Breakfast- Quaker oats ( Sometimes I through in some raisins)
-Protien Drink 20gms Of Protien Roughly
- 2-3 Eggs
Brunch- Protien Bar, Drink, ETC, (This is the time of the day I usually lift)

Lunch- Chicken Breast Fried with some Veggies, or Steak...I love Steak

Between Lunch and Dinner- I usually open a can of tuna, drain the water crap out and sprinkle some salt and pepper over the top and get after it.

Dinner- I usually eat a sandwich with chips or something because Im at work, dont really have time for anything else unless I bring a MRP.

I stopped bulking recently because I went from around 10% body fat to close to 18% and like I said earlier I ran my ass off back down to 14% because all the fat was scaring me, my abs dissapeared and my pecs were on there way to dissappearing.

If there is anything with my diet or workout I need to change to gain let me know..Thanks a ton guys.

If you really want to gain size you should stop worrying about your abs and bodyfat for a little while. Bulk up as much as you can then cut it off after. You'll have a ton of new muscle underneath.

BTW your diet doesnt really sound like 3500 calories a day. Try shoving more food down your throat. Personally I think eating alot is harder than training.

If you aren't happy with yourself without AAS, then using AAS isn't going to make you happy either.

I started at 152 and went to 305 completely natural. I've spent the past SEVERAL years since going down to 265 and then back up to about 275-285 now and in good shape and fairly lean.

Being happy comes from inside. If you need the outside to give you inner peace...you are following a road that only leads to disappointment.

Right on Madcow! Great post!
Cutthroat - a few thoughts -

You have to be happy with you. Wipe all the crap out of your head - what your friends say, etc. and start fresh. This is the starting point - mental/spiritual well-being and balance.

Don't worry about what others think - YOU WILL NEVER MEASURE UP OR BE HAPPY. Self-confidence is a hard one to learn, but once learned, you'll never have a problem with it again.

Find a hobby (or 3) that you really love doing and can do frequently - for me it's fly fishing. I'm outside in nature, a nice mountain stream......it doesn't even matter if I catch fish.

Don't lift weights to impress anyone. I'm 42 years old and I lift for health and keeping fit, to get bigger (6' and a lean 250# here I come) and because I really enjoy lifting. Screw what others think, do it for YOU.

Before doing AAS, I'd seriously consider some hard-core eating with hard-core training. When I'm in a bulk up phase, I typically eat 4500-5000 cals per day. Keep the food as clean as possible. You might put on some bf, but you can trim it off later. AND, lift like crazy. Skinny legs? Squat twice a week and deadlift once a week. Try the 5X5 routine like Madcow says.

This website is a goldmine for lifting and eating and all the support you can get. You can do this, we can help (sounds like a bad commercial?!).

This all takes time. Just stick with it.
