Yes...keeping up with one of my big goals...I am playing soccer still on Friday afternoons. Usually we play indoor soccer and it is hard enough to keep up with those little guys... Last Friday we played outside...MUCH bigger field.

I did play for 1 hour straight though...and had a blast. It did kinda piss me off when the other team scored on us and I looked back and or goalie was smoking a cigarette. Just imagine a small Japanese guy, huge goalie gloves on, cigarette hanging from his lip, with reddish colored hair...playing goalie. It was pretty funny (the cigarette).

Anyway...I had some pics taken of me being killed by the soccer players...

The guy in the Orange Shirt is a guy I have been playing with for the past few weeks. I nearly fell over one week when he came over in a tank top and started flexing next to me...lol

How many japanese people are in kentucky, 4? Nice pics, looks like you're getting that cardio in, it makes me remember the olden days when I played soccer.

haha, pretty cool. funny about the goalie

up here the majority of the minority (?) is viatnamese. funny how everybody's all spread out in groups
 
I love the "Waiting for Something to Happen" pic. You look like you're going through a routine of "I'm A Little Teapot"!

Looks like you're having a blast. If I was those guys I'd live in terror that you'd run over me. You're about 5x their size! Sort of like a Clydsedale galloping over a Shetland pony.

Murray State University has one of the best International Recruting programs in the U.S. actually. It is a VERY good University and is VERY cheap too... There are usually 30 or more of us playing soccer on Friday. Greeks, Africans, Japaneese, Chinese, Russian, etc... They have huge parties here...especially the Greeks and the Germans!!!!

Hey now...I was on the way down in that pic...lol. Not many 6'2" 285 pound men can grab the rim on a 10' basketball goal:)

you next to the asian guy reminded me of godzilla. everyone notice how they are running away from Clint;) . It kind of reminds me of when you were younger and someone's older brother was designated qb for both teams:fro:

Uh huh sure Clint..... :D Great pics man, looked like it was a lot of fun. And they sure do move fast dont they!? I played some indoor soccer with friends and the guys would run circles around me. One little guy even kicked it through my legs and ran around me to get it. :( Good times!

This guy from Saudi Arabia had his back to me...and kicked it over my head, ran around me...then went in to nearly score... Seriously...

The next time he got the ball...he backed up...ran into me...fell down...then I got the ball. :)

No Cleats or Shin Guards ?
Must be a pickup sorta game huh?

On that inbounds corner kick, you should be out there marking up
that player instead of standing by the goalie blocking his view.

hey Bfold, did you have fun playing a 'european' sport? whaddaya think about the comments that soccer is a sissy sport? (i hear that so often, it's not even funny)

My girlfriend wears shin guards when she plays and some of the others do too. I've hit shins with quite a few other players and I am glad that I have years of Martial Arts training on my shins...lol

The International students play every Friday and Sunday for 2 hours each. Many of them were Professionals before they came here to college. There are 3 from Japan and 1 from Greece that play with us on a regular basis.

I wasn't really blocking the goalie but was keeping the other team from kicking it in. They put 2-3 people out not too far from the goal and try to kick/head butt the ball in the goal from there...I try to make them realize that I am going to hit them if they even think about it...lol.

Well...soccer is a lot more running that pushing and hitting...but there is a lot of contact too. I have to really control myself when making contact with the other players because I do realize that if I hit them with my body that it really will hurt them. Seriously hurt them. I often bump into a player in the middle of a play and they will go flying...or limp for a few plays.

It is hard to keep up with them though...they use their speed and I have to use my size. Size doesn't mean much when you can't touch them...ya know? I just try to make them pass it or shoot from MUCH farther out from the goal.

Ohhh...Y Lifter...I think that everyone out there was wearing cleats...even me:)
