This is What's Wrong with Sports

Theres nothing wrong with that at all. A person is dissatisfied with a coaches firing. LeBron James should get to decide where he's going, and will.

That's bullshit. That's not how the draft works. The team that sucks enough to earn the # 1 pick should be able to take who they want.

You think Jordan wanted to go to the Bulls? They sucked. He went there and created a dynasty.

Lucas sucked as a coach. He lasted a lot longer than he should have.

He's right this is bullshit, I am with James, I will no longer allow the Cavs to draft me in this years draft........But seriously James shut your 18yr old ass up and let the cards fall as they may.

Well, let's talk about John Elway.

Mr. Elway was supposed to be drafted by the Kansas City Royals. He told the Royals that there was no way he was going to play for them, and if he had been drafted by then, he was going to play football.

The story, as I heard it, was that he had a few teams (football and baseball) that he was willing to play for, and would work it so he didn't have to play for someone he didn't want to.

Point being, this ain't a new thing.

Ummm...you're a little mixed up. Elway was supposed to be drafted by the Colts. He told them that if they drafted him, he was going to play for the Yankees. The Colts traded his rights to the Broncos and the rest is history. For the record, I think that was wrong, as well.

Look at JD Drew. He's the most famous recent case. He held the Phillies hostage over money. Now he's an average player and booed by fans in almost every city except St Louis.

I agree that James is wrong for picking teams but what do you expect when the media drools over this guy saying he's gonna be the next Jordan. Until he proves he can play in the NBA he is just a regular joe in my books.

BTW, IMO, Drew is not an average player. The guy is a 5 tool player but is too often injured.

Hm...well, I'll take your word for it, since you can probably remember it happening, and I was just told about it.

Coulda sworn the Royals were gonna take him in the draft, but hell, I misremember a lot of things.

Anyway...I think my point still stands. Today's athletes are no better or worse than yesterday's athletes. Just richer.
