i posted this in the other thread but i still dont see how there was neglect. the parents were sleeping.

well... here is how I see it... first off, with a newborn you don't leave them in an infant seat to sleep... (wrong wrong wrong) then you don't allow an animal, i don't care what the breed around them until you are totally comfortable that they are compatable with them. Which I would say would take a year. You can never predict what an animal will do or when they will do it, and to fall asleep with your infant child vulnerable to a puppy, that knows no better (which may have been starving... we don't know ) is neglect on the parents part.

When I had both my kids as infants, I did not have any pet around them. Pets adapt just like people and also get jealous just like kids. You have to slowly get them adjusted to a new addition to the family.

I totally agree. My son was in a bassinet when he was little and I rolled him around with me all through the house, couldn't imagine leaving him sleeping in a car seat for God only knows how long, and NO pets around kids if even for catching things...hell they lick there own butts! Wouldn't want them even licking on a newborn. Just really sad!

trust me i dont condone what they did im trying to look at the legality of it. when my son was born i barely slept and constantly checked on him. he was always in his crib when sleeping unless i put him in his bouncy chair and he fell asleep there id lay on the couhc next to him and watch tv.

i was just wondering what the legality of it is and if they just arrested them cause something terrible happened and they hope they can hold the parents accountable. its a lose lose situation no matter how you look at it.

oh... I know... Just making my point on the situation.

Omg!
Typically my response would have been fuck it...Have the dog eat the parents toes, the parents eat the dogs toes, then shoot all 3 of them between the eyes!
However, the dog was a pup, most likely by the sounds of it a non fed pup..Those 2 need more than child endangerment!!! Assholes.
I dont understand why they did not wake to their child crying..Shit ok I have been tired enough to sleep through shit, hell I sleep through the alarm every morning! But for both parents to be sleeping next to a child and not hear her cry..Why was she not in a crib put up away from the dogs reach? This whole subject angers me at how neglectful parents tend to be!
