Whats a gym to you?,

To me its a place for mind and body, a place to sweat, break old records, a place where you invite pain inside your house for a pleasant visit.
Im tired of the fuckin college kids coming to my gym talking about what there going to do on the weekend, or how they got really wasted on a bottle of Morgan....c'mon allready. These kids come in in groups, and really piss me off, as I am easily distracted as it is. One kid auctually put weight on the bar, but that was about it, after he put the weight on he blabbed to his buddies for awhile, then took the weight off and left.....im bitchin, I know, but if I was the owner of the gym I would show them the fuckin door in a minute.

A gym is;

1) a place to sweat, bleed and spill your guts in an attempt to reach your goals...

2) the more common definition; to see friends and chat and look like they are getting into shape.....

It is your choice on what type of place you can make it

i use the university gym here, so i can't avoid the college guys you speak of. the worst part is, most of em are my friends. i go to the gym by myself, they come in packs. i have my earphones blasting but i can't hear the music that is playing because i am pushing myself to the limit, they hang around a bench talking and every once in a while do a set with measely weights (of course, with the "spotter" pulling most of the weight). they get no results. i get what i've been striving for. it's just a matter of being completely dedicated. no point in doing this in a half-assed manner.

Heh, I use the gym right next to Rice university so I get a lot of college guys in there. They're pretty roudy too, I don't really pay much attention to other people though, unless I'm seeing that they obviously know something about what they're doing, then I watch their form and the number of reps/sets they do, rest time etc..

For me, I go to the gym just to get away and shed all my stress by putting all my anger into the weights. What really bugs me though are all the new people (freakin weekend warriors) I keep seeing, I'm not sure if its the "after the holidays' crowd or what. Maybe these dorks got a gym membership for christmas who knows.

I like it when I see some kids home from college for the holidays in the gym all the time. Oddly enough, they are nowhere to be seen any other time of the year. What do they do in the summer when they're home??

There is a new "personality" in my gym. Perhaps one of the most rediculous i have seen in a while. This girl shows up in a t-shirt, spandex pants, and what appear to be the kind of boot you would wear to go horse back ridging. They are these leather, knee-high, zip-up hooker boots, and she starts off by doing reclining bike in them. I dont know how that could possible be comfortable. But, when she settles down on the bike, she breaks out the cell phone. She's go one of those ear things that hangs down so it looks like she is talking to herself. Well, she pretty much talks the whole time! And when she is done on the bike, she does some sort of weight circuit, all the while wearing the hooker boots and talking on the phone. She ACTUALLY talks on the phone WHILE doing her sets. Clearly she is working hard!!

Of late, there seems like there are more and more useless people in my gym. I assume these are the "new year's resolution" people who are going to attempt to get in shape for a month, then realize that they are fat and stupid and go back to being unhealthy for the next 11 months.
